Dude, I’ve limited out the last four times in the area of R1-4 and R22. We just bounced around and hit moving water around points, which was challenging a couple times. Only once or twice did we pull in three or four from the same spot, a lot of one and two’s, so don’t hover too long. Gets shallow out there on low tide. Kill it!

You and me both! I have pretty much the same plan. I’m going to have a couple drop shots rigged up, some corks in case I see some birds, and some jigs. I’m going to bring some dead shrimp in case I want to go for some reds on the way back.

I only have a 90 Yamaha with an 18′ War Eagle so I couldn’t keep up, but we should exchange phone numbers for safety and/or to share info when we’re out there.

I’m going to spend the night Thursday and then again on Friday

Thanks for this, I’ll share my plan later tonight. I’m going to try to fish Friday and Saturday so I should be able to give you my report before you go. I’m going to head down the SW Pass and hit those spillways.

I was looking at my hard baits yesterday wondering why no one has been mentioning them.

For plan redfish, I never do live anymore, my buddy and I killed it on dead shrimp on a matrix shad, any darker color with a yellow tail.

Some of the guys said that the winds shouldn’t be a problem, but it looks like you’ll be running from some thundershowers, not a deal killer.

When I go down next weekend, I’m going to stay in a hotel down there the night before because it’s such a long day and the ride home is so hard.

I’m sure Capt Devin will chime in, he said the other day that the path through Zin Zin might be dicey. The guys who know that area were telling me that the river might be the best route.

I’m already looking at the weather for this week and it looks like we’re getting that drop Wednesday, but with crazy high winds. I’m going to try to squeeze my workweek into four days and head down to Venice Thursday night to fish Friday and Saturday. Looks like the winds are going to die down.

We’re five days away, so a lot could change

Made a good call not going down to Lake Robin and that way, I talked to three different boats and they struggled to catch even a handful of keeper trout. Got a bunch of 11 and 12 inch ones.<div>I realized the area I was in (Lake Batola)was not gonna be a trout area after about an hour so we switched to plan redfish. We ended up a pretty good day with six of them, three of them were over 24 inches. </div><div>I need to do my report</div>

I just checked the rain chances and Saturday we’re gonna be running around thunder showers and Sunday looks like a watch out. I want to go to Venice when I can spend the whole weekend there in fish both days, so I’m just gonna do Delacroix this weekend

Of course now my trolling motor is in the shop, so I’ll be without that and have to use the old fashioned anchor. Maybe drifting in the river in Venice might be easier.
