Nice to see you working Venice. I haven’t fished in a few weeks due to work and travel, but did a duck hunt in Buras a couple weekends ago.
Thanks for the reports

Thanks for the report. Yeah, tough day, low expectations but you don’t know unless you go……..

Great report, thanks. I’m going to head down there next weekend. I got a couple spots in Cubits Gap I want to try out.

Interesting that you found fish but they didn’t bite. You got dinner though. Thanks for the report

Great info, thanks for putting that together.
I’ve had a Lowrance since I bought the boat 9 years ago, but it’s only a 5″ and my problem is I can’t see anything on it. I only use it for depth and I hold my phone in my hand and use Google maps for navigation. Time for an upgrade.
I want to be able to use the fish finder to find bait balls and see the bottom terrain and everything.

Thanks for that! I’ll look into that

I hate that when toy’s just getting ready to move and then you catch a nice one, and then couple minutes later catch a rat red, and then few minutes later you catch a 12.5″ trout………..and then a half hour has gone by.
Been there, done that

Having said that, those two times were within the last month and I don’t find the river to be a big issue. Last weekend when I went down, the fog was so thick that I would have never left the dock except that there was a parade of guide boats heading down river that I was able to jump in the middle of and tailgate down. If it’s foggy, you won’t have those boats going through that off river route you’re showing.
We hugged the West Bank of the river going down and I fished a cut off that side until the fog lifted and I felt safe to cross the river to those bayous on the east side. It sounds counter intuitive, but if it’s foggy the river might actually be safer

Great report, thanks. I probably saw you Thursday as I was driving to the Northshore for an inspection and wishing I was down there instead of doing 35 mph on the Causeway because of the fog. Glad you killed it.

Thanks again for your input. I pulled the trigger yesterday and got the Lowrance Elite 9″

Yes, thanks so much for all of this, I appreciate the time you put into it. I love this group, I wish it had been around the I first started fishing, it would have saved me so much time that I spent spinning my wheels

Thanks for repsonding. Turns out I just went ahead and went with the Lowrance Elite 9″. I think it has what I need and is easy enough to operate. I got the La East card with it too. I’m pumped!
