Good morning,
We did pretty much the same thing as you did on Sunday. We hit the trestles for about 30 minutes before heading out to Lake Borgne. We went to the Shell Reef and Half Moon Island with no luck, just hard heads.
We passed that first rig on the way back in and decided not to stop. We probably passed you. We stopped at the Rigolets Pass Bridge and hooked into a bull red on bottom with a drop shot and cracked crab.
Fishing with live shrimp. I know, but I had a boat with people who don’t know how to fish with plastics.
The water temp was 85, and the wind was from the south/ south west at around 7mph. High tide was at 12:11 PM at 1’11”.

that is a nice looking boat.

I’m wondering if he hit that island that used to be there. If you go back on GED to 2016, there used to be a small island just to the south west of that spot, 100 feet or so.

I was about to post the same thing.
I took a few people who didn’t know how to fish on Saturday, so it was natural that I took them to the trestles for an easy catch. all I had was dead shrimp for them and I used artificial.
They caught nothing and I got a flounder and a 20″ spec.
Here is what I don’t understand. I know for a fact no one had live shrimp at the marinas. I called all of them. So, why do all those boats sit there for hours catching nothing? Is it just a hope that the fish will turn on? Is it because some random person said they limited out in 20 min on Facebook?
I’m still going through the lessons on here and I am still learning the Riggolets area. But I can just sit in one spot for 4 hours, hoping to catch 1 or 2 specs here and there

You can email me at [email protected]. If it is a good weekend, I am usually at the marina, whether just working on the boat or fishing. I don’t have social media anymore. Maybe we can convince Devin to add a private messaging section to the website.

I can fit under the 11 bridge, I didn’t know if they kept the train bridge up or not.

Thanks Devin,
I am about 70% through 101. It is for sure things that I already had somewhat of a grasp on, but there is a lot of knowledge I am picking up for the first time. like what structure actually is. I look forward to going through the rest of the course as I progress.

Thanks, Devin,
Not looking to kill it. probably not even keeping fish. Just a get out and learn day.

I’m launching from the Riolets marine with the 24ft bay boat. the 15ft flatboat is at my house currently getting a much-needed rework.
