I never trusted a fish…everything seems kinda fishy with them.

I posted a report this morning from Lake P from this past weekend. I didn’t see anything and I fished/graphed the poles from Williams towards Manchac until I got bored without seeing anything. I also tried the rigs in the area and reef balls, not much on the radar. They’re probably better fishermen than me on this forum that fish that area and have success but I believe it’ll take a lot of TOW graphing this area. Drillnfill had success a couple weeks ago but he also said he’s spent a fair amount of time graphing the area. IMHO this may be a decent place in the fall, IDK.

I use a 1/0 or 2/0 Kahle hook rigged the way you do, under the horn, I guess this would be the Rostrum.

Pros
- Keeps the shrimp alive without piercing it with the hook
- Triggered plenty of strikes
Cons
- Holder isn’t 100% effective
- Hook gap is too small for a consistent hookup ratio
- Hook strength is questionable if you get into larger fish

When I go to that area you want to fish, I launch out of Kenner by Treasure Chest Casino.
“He did say Kenner too. I chose Norco because it’s closer to launch and I don’t have to deal with Kenner traffic on a Friday.”
There could be a channel coming out of there that I don’t know about. I just don’t know. “Actually there are white poles he said follow that takes you out.”
I would idle that last leg of it going into the lake and watch sonar like a hawk.
“Without a doubt I’ll be at idle until I see deeper water.”

Looking at that map would one of the circled points be the “dope boat”? it looks like there’s a couple wrecks out there in three mile bay.

You know Devin, I just stumbled on it looking around for Lake P depth maps. I thought it was really cool that it’s very detailed showing lots of info that GED doesn’t show. This and GED is a step up for me.

I haven’t received any on any thread in about two weeks, I didn’t receive a notice on this thread. Oh yeah…I’m not messing with any crab fisherman! They get really crabby at times especially around their income!
