What a bad@ss trip!
After my 10/28/25 Venice trip I haven’t wanted to fish anywhere else, lol. Now reading your report Venice is the only place I want to be.
Sucks y’all ran aground, but I’m glad y’all were able to get unstuck safely and continue to fish.

Yeah, fishing with a bait caster is a game changer for sure. Glad you were able to get all that practice in catching a ton of fish!
You had a solid plan, there was no doubt you were eventually going to get on something in which you did! Glad you were able to execute it without any issues.

I don’t think you’ll have to worry about sandbars in Southwest Pass; I’d be more concerned with the river traffic and the wake those ships push off. If you’re not paying attention and a ship passes you the wake could potentially throw you into the bank, or worse the rocks.
Looking at your plan, the first two spots could be good. Not sure where the third spot is, but I would definitely add Joseph Bayou to your plan.

Dude, same thing happened to me in the jump 10/28, lol. I stopped in the jump for maybe a total of 20mins and about 50 boats flew past me. Venice is wild haha.

No worries at all, your intel was excellent! Thank you again for it. Those are great spots to fish if you have winds screaming in from either the North of South and you need a little protection. We just couldn’t find them there that’s all.
We truly had a blast though! I’m itching to get back down there for sure. Thank you.
