I was literally about to post a General discussion about this!
Satellite mode for Iphones 14 and up is mostly used for emergency texts.
Since you have Starlink, you can connect your phone to the Wi-Fi calling by selecting the “Wi-Fi calling” option in the “Cellular” tab in your phones settings. Once connected you should be able to make calls, send text, and receive both. I believe no matter where you’re at as long as you’re connected to the Wi-Fi.

Man I’m with you on giving Hopedale a break. I have a lot of love for it and will continue to fish it. I’m just ready to go somewhere else like Cocodrie, Grand Isle, Port Sulpher, and Venice. Great report, thank you!

Yeah, that guy could have been way cooler about your lights being on for sure. You did the right thing though, don’t let people like that ruin your day. My theory on people like that is that they are the “fishermen” that only fish the same spots all the time and if they don’t catch any fish that day they become even bigger a-holes when picking their boats up out of the water. Can’t win either way I guess. Great report man, thank you!

Definitely a sketchy area, but if you do your GED homework and post your pre-planning trip to the community you’ll be fine. I fished that area for the first time two years ago now IIRC and came back with my lower unit, lol. I did do my GED homework pretty thoroughly before though and asked the community questions if I had any. You should totally do it!

To be fair though, I was once that retard, lol.
Just to put in prospective on how retarded I was! I once ran my old Go-Devil with a max speed of like 25mph from Eddie Pinto’s all the way down the back-levee canal to Martello Castle just to throw a gold spoon at the rocks on the right side when you come through the pass. It was November, the floatilla was there fishing in the pass and catching fish……..I left after about 4hrs and went home skunked and frustrated, lol. This particular trip however, is how I discovered LAFB. I went home and YouTubed “How to catch Speckled Trout in Louisiana” and saw your “30 Minute LAFB Commercial” and became a member that day.
Since then, I got rid of the Go-Devil, bought a new boat, completed Inshore 101, and now have caught my limit of speckled trout in Cocodrie, Venice, Delacroix, Breton Sound, and Hopedale. A few honorable mentions just because I came close to catching my limit but came up short are Port Sulphur, Grand Isle, Lake P, and Lake B.
On another note, I wanted mentioned Pat not yelling at me because he has at least 3 time in the past yelled at me. One time for getting part of my old Go-Devils stern stuck under the dock and holding up the armada for a minute and the other two for just lunching solo and having to leave my truck in the way, again hold up the armada. I just wanted to let you know that you aren’t the only one he yells at, lol.
