Thanks for the report and good job on completing IF 101 brother! Yeah fishing on that area is about to get good (according to other reports). I’ll be fishing the area shortly to scout. Just a piece of advice, if you plan your trip a couple of days before using what you learned on IF 101, and post on the planning section, other members might be able to point you in the right direction and maybe save you some precious time and money. I’ve done a few not so good plans and had to recalculate my route, and it worked out for me. Great to see you posting a report and helping us brother!!!

You are an warrior!! Trolling motor would definitely had made you life easier, but regardless of the curve balls thrown at you. You made it happen!! I went there day after you but my focus was bass and it was a huge let down. Managed to find some trout including a nice 4lbs at the jump. had to do plenty of graphing to find the sweet spot though.

Thanks for the report bro. I went to Venice yesterday and i.m stupid tired, so decided not to go fishing today. If you planning on making a trip to Venice, my report is up.

Thanks bud. It’s been great learning Venice. I wish I had done it sooner.

Im really not sure how accurate the scale is on them boga grip but after this trip im definitely getting a better scale
-
Brother we didnt even think about measuring it, which i regret. We were just ready for some pictures and releasing it. Only reason i know the weight is because i have a scale on my boga grip. It was a stud tho

Brother i aint gonna lie, if we organize a week long road trip to the everglades or miami, i wouldnt be mad at it at all. Bring the boats and just explore

When they complained about me i was way inside grand pass, not even near the river intersection. When he said “they are not supposed to be there” it sparkled the curiosity in my mind

I’ll definitely have everything checked before heading out there. That crazy strong falling tide did not help at all. It was many hours of straight running on high power (two people on the boat, tons of gas and a full livewell didn’t make it any easier either).

Now i would suggest something that i am 100% sure Devin would to: Why not go to Venice?
Ill be posting a report on Venice monday night if you are interested
-
Yeah brother, i have decided to go to venice monday and see whats happening there, and if i still have the energy to fish, i will most likely just do a little boat ride in Bievenue tuesday and see if i find anything there. Hopedale is not looking promising at all after talking to a few people, and this is the report i did a few weeks ago when i went https://www.lafbelite.com/forums/discussion/hopedale-9-12-25/
So most likely posting my planning on here saved me a good bit of gas money hahha i am only going to Bievenue because i never been and i have some free time. But got zero expectations on catching fish
-
Ill definitely hit the jump to see if the fish is there already. I wont make a planning post for tuesday in Venice because me and you covered that pretty good in my last trip to venice, all i need to do is check the same trout spots again. When “game time” comes in november, then ill make a good planning post with all the intel i gathered between my last trip and now!
-
Okay let me try to uncomplicate things:
My original scouting plan was Hopedale for sure, but after the feedback on my plan we came to the conclusion that Hopedale might not be the best place to look for fish as of right now, that’s why i decided to make a plan for a different area instead. I believe is confusing because maybe i didnt express myself correctly or you didnt see the previous confersations iw as having with clint.
As far as venice goes, i am going there tuesday with a friend that bass fishes that area a lot and we gonna scout for some bass, so when my friends come from colorado i can have a plan for bass and trout.
-
You 100% right so tuesday im for sure going to venice to have some spots marked down for bass fishing for sure, that way put together with the spots i already learned, i should have a solid plan for when my friends arrive. As far as monday, i had decided to go to fourchon but after thinking over it, even if i find the mother load of speckled trout, it will change by the time they my friends get here, like you said, scouting 3 weeks in advance is not ideal. It crossed my mind to fish Bievenue monday since i never been there, and like you said, when the time comes ill at least had put eyes on the place. So what i might end up doing monday is Launch at the chef, fish some cuts in the north shore of lake Borgne, check some deep canals in alligator point, and fish the marsh in Bievenue around the great wall area and get to know the place, pretty much not having catching fish as a priority, but get to know the area. With my report and yours we would be able to see what’s happening in that area. And i would be sort of prepared for when fall really kicks in. Another place that i have never been and want to learn is Delacroix, but after looking in the GED it seems like Delacroix is kinda close to Hopedale/Shell Beach so if fishing aint great in those places i dont know if its worth it the 2.5h drive for me.
