I’ll be there sunday and monday. I like your plan, a little different from mine but is definitely something i want to explore one day, that East Bay area. Only thing i would point our is be careful on that spot behind the island (photo below). If you plan on navigating through that channel its very shallow, i was just there two weeks ago. I would definitely go through the outside of it

Anywhere in the Southwest pass has potential to hold fish. If its your first time heading down there i would strongly suggest you make a little more detailed plan and show us the spots you plan on fishing, maybe we can give feedback on them, but most important, you HAVE TO MAKE A SAFE ROUTE!!!! Take close look on GED and plan a safe route towards SW Pass and share it with us. Venice is a place you dont want to risk and lose your lower unit or get stuck. Most of us cross Zin Zin to make it to the first spillway.

Awesome. Please give me some feedback. I’m going super blind, I never been there before. Also I passed through there yesterday (ICWE) and the water was verrrry pretty

That sounds like a lot of fun brother. When we caught the trout in the jump they were at about 30ft of water, we caught it around 3pm. Fishing is a box full of surprises bro. That day Jamie and i flipped canes for bass for 7 hours straight for 5 bass, today he went back and they caught over 100….go figure. Did you try Baptist Collette? I’ll be back there November 2-3, we reserved a cabin that sleeps 6. I’ll bring my friends from Colorado. You more than welcome to join us and put that ranger to good use!! We can find some new spots too!!

Thanks for the report and good job on completing IF 101 brother! Yeah fishing on that area is about to get good (according to other reports). I’ll be fishing the area shortly to scout. Just a piece of advice, if you plan your trip a couple of days before using what you learned on IF 101, and post on the planning section, other members might be able to point you in the right direction and maybe save you some precious time and money. I’ve done a few not so good plans and had to recalculate my route, and it worked out for me. Great to see you posting a report and helping us brother!!!

Don’t be intimidated by Venice. I was scared to run there for a long time, wasn’t until i joined this community that i decided to take the chance and trust me it was rewarding!! You wont know until you go!!!

The jump is a little stretch in the grand pass right before the intersection with Mississippi River

Thanks bud. It’s been great learning Venice. I wish I had done it sooner.

Im really not sure how accurate the scale is on them boga grip but after this trip im definitely getting a better scale
-
Brother we didnt even think about measuring it, which i regret. We were just ready for some pictures and releasing it. Only reason i know the weight is because i have a scale on my boga grip. It was a stud tho

Brother i aint gonna lie, if we organize a week long road trip to the everglades or miami, i wouldnt be mad at it at all. Bring the boats and just explore

When they complained about me i was way inside grand pass, not even near the river intersection. When he said “they are not supposed to be there” it sparkled the curiosity in my mind
