Great report! I’ve tried mud lake a couple of times in the last month without your success. I’ve focused on the southeast corner where it empties a ton of water into Barataria bay. It’s pretty deep there and it’s yielded mostly catfish for me. I did find some luck on the north side of Barataria between there and the Myrtle grove canal. Smaller trout, some white trout, and a couple of bull reds that took up too much of the morning. Three bayou bay was decent last week with some keeper trout and an out of season flounder. I’m planning on going Tuesday. Wind finder makes it look like Barataria may be rough, so I’ll probably be looking for closer spots. Have you heard of anyone finding trout in rigolettes, the pen, or bayou DuPont yet this fall?

I knew folks would kill it this week. The weather looked great. That’s quite a run for October, but in good conditions i know it went quickly. Great post!

I’m going out tomorrow and I think I’ll see what’s happening in little lake and three bayou bay in the Lafitte area. I’ll see what’s happening in Bayou Rigolettes too, but that’s where I’ll try and find redfish. I have a hard time believing they’ve moved all of the way into the pen or the blue point canals.

Yes! Let the trout rest up. It’s redfish season!
