When I first got to the long rocks I trolled down it for over an hour and didn’t have a bite the last 20 minutes or so which I is why I thought they could have moved on to a different area. So I would say probably at least half a mile down.
I think the problem with the other spots beside the long rocks was that it was pretty rough in bay eloi and similar area and the water didn’t look the cleanest.
I was trying to find a spot that was stacked but in retrospect I probably could have grinded the long rocks a few times over and caught some more. Thats what is tough is knowing when to say a spot is done especially for somewhere like the long rocks where you can just go down the whole thing that is very long. How do you normally go about deciding this?
Thats good to know about the short rocks vs the long rocks and makes sense. Thanks
It was definitely fun to get out there and catch some nice size trout but hope to catch some more next time. Thanks for the input.

I was planning on that area of east lake P and lake Catherine because the wind looked higher earlier this week and just had it in my head.
Looking at the wind I agree that it looks like I can get into lake borgne and try around there. I am not at my computer now to add the points but I will tonight add grand banks river, half moon island, the cabbage reef, l&n bridge, and some more rigs and reefs in lake borgne.
I like this plan especially with getting away from the boat parking lot at the trestles
Thank you so much for the help.

Thank you for the advice I will try to keep moving and look for moving water. When you were in the area were you mostly blind casting or were yall seeing them and sight casting?

Yes this is Bennet from LAX.
Thanks for the advice I will probably stop at grande lake first and try that out while the sun is coming up and scratch R18 spot.
