Been using the Z Man Texas Eye jig heads with the Z Man scented paddler z in Sexy Penny as my starting point. If that color isn’t working, i change it up.

Think one of your videos highlighted one of the benefits of artificials is spending time working the lure, not replacing live or dead bait that the hard heads love.

Hi Devin, i took your advice and abandoned fishing with live or dead bait. My boat is much cleaner and there is sense of pride only use artificials.

    Thanks Keith,

Fishing the rigs, i can see why you use the 30 lbs braid for the abrasion resistance. I mostly fish the shallows inshore on the Texas coast so if i am not wading, i would be tossing a shrimp from the boat into the shallower water almost like presenting a fly when fly fishing.

Hi Devin,,, first let me say i enjoy your YT videos and your down to earth presentation.

My preferred fishing areas are Freeport and Matagorda – Matagorda especially doesnt have jet skies.

My boat is an unusual one since it was designed for rougher waters of Australia and New Zealand and more common in the Pacific Northwest. It has a Vee that drafts 16 inches motor up so i have to be careful in the skinny water (Photos attached).

I am happy to be active on the forum and create discussion.
