Yes I do (raymarine axios) and that is part of the plan other wise your correct it would make for a long day
Thanks for the info; I know it isn’t 100% in the scope of what you are doing here but i figured it couldn’t hurt to ask. While I dont want to just do what everyone else does I am not above getting some direction. I will have to report back when this trip happens.

So are any of those areas that we hit spots that have produced?
I have heard it is better to fish the deeper waters near the bridges on a slow/neap tide more so then on a moving tide, any truth to this?
Any recommendations regarding the areas we fished, ie times of year and or conditions that would be better times to hit these areas?
Finally there are rumblings that we might be making a trip to Grand Isle this weekend, weather dependent. Going on the last statement that should be a much higher chance of success.

I would agree. This was part b/c we had nothing else to do, part we had issues with the boat last time so we wanted to make all was butter (which it is all is good), and part to go places I haven’t been before. So on that end we checked those boxes. So I shouldn’t bitch to much about not catching fish

Yep I had sea tow then didn’t fish for about a year and let it lapse… then of course needed it. I just re signed up with those guys and also I have a battery jump box inbound now. The for head slap moment is also we could have launched the boat out of madisonville and run to the powerlines in the west side of lake P (like Devin mentioned) which would could have been a better trip.
The killer is I have a 14 y/o who hasn’t gotten hooked up with a red fish yet despite years of trying and though for sure we could get on some. The journey continues

As far as rigging would a drop shot work here or is it to much “stuff”. I know these stinkers are smart. In the end free lining croaker or shrimp might be the way to go

Any luck out east of Chandy? I know of several “reefs” out off the north tip of chandy but I am not sure if they hold snapper or not.

I dont know if you have any experience fishing out of BSL? I would think some of these species could be caught on rigs south of cat island / south of the chandelier islands on rigs out there correct?

Separate topic……but, is that saltstrong website a good location for other species such as cobia, mangrove snapper, ect? Or do you recommend other you tube guys or websites to become familiar with fishing these species?
I cant go crazy with my boat but I certainly can get out to some of the closer rigs and might get into some mangrove, cobia, triple tail ect.

As for the tide chart, what resource are you using? I used the one on Saltstrong’s website…….which clearly isn’t timed right.
Why aren’t you using Windfinder? Well……brain fart I dont have a great answer.

Wow clearly I picked the wrong tide chart……very weird. Below is what I see on the tide chart I looked at for the Rigolets (maybe Chef pass would be better )
I’m still kicking the can around to see if it is worth going this weekend, not dead set on it. I saw decent tide and thought it might be worth a go. I know the last couple of times you mentioned to try out toward the EBM so that might be the move as you pointed out. If we go at all. A cool front would be nice.

Also side note have you had any luck around the rocks on west of Lake P near the Tangipahoa? It looks a bit fishy if you had a good tide perhaps.

Yep I plan on keeping an eye on the graph for sure.
Even with a bit of rain its going to be boiling out there, so the idea of grinding on those piles with out side scan is not my idea of a good time.
