Not sticking up for any of the local shops here, but I ordered 2 parts for my outboard since my start button is non-functional on the 11th and they have been sitting in the New Orleans USPS sorting center for a week.

If its not delayed by back order, its delayed by the carrier in some way.

I tend to work on my own stuff but if I have to leave it with someone I typically travel to rural Alabama. There’s so many old school techs who are honest over there it’s hard to deal with the attitude and prices that New Orleans and surrounding areas throw at you. I don’t mean all, but the majority of what I’ve encountered locally is unimpressive.

For those that haven’t been, the pen is like the size of a postage stamp

Not really, but if there’s more then 3 boats you’re gonna be close.

Sounds like an awesome outing. I have 2 kids(5yo & 3yo) and they love fishing trips on the boat.

Ok yeah, we saw yall cleaning at the slip. You were washing the boat and he was cleaning fish. Ben Da Rod charters I think. And you guys(or just him) were in front of us as we were leaving Sweetwater.

    Respect to both you guys.

    But that’s the difference right?

    Professionals can do it consistently

    [pause]

    when it counts,

    [pause]

    despite the odds.

Conditions change, fish move, patterns shift; you gotta learn, adapt, and overcome.

Looking back, I think avoiding the dirty water hurt us. My buddy wanted to push further east, I wanted to go west, and never on my radar was to find line between chitty & chit water, NEVER. But now it is. I don’t like it, but I certainly didn’t like striking out either.

I think doing more GED study on the area would’ve helped mapping out structure, i.e.- holes vs. flats vs. cuts and outlining them more clearly to transition from fishing holes/points in the morning cold to flats/ledges as the day progressed.

I think we should do this again sometime.

Take an area we know holds fish, hit it from different angles, and compare notes.

Pain is the best teacher and I’d like a shot at r̶e̶v̶e̶n̶g̶e̶ redemption.

    What an opening 2 stanzas!

Checkout my buddy Frank Lee’s reports inside LA Inshore on FB. He missed his calling.

I hadn’t realized you caught more reds past what you sent so I’ll have to edit my report.

I’ll have to admit, last spring my friend told me his neighbor was gonna take us down to Delacroix my first thought was, “Oh great, some old fogey is gonna take us on a marsh tour of where he caught 100 man limits before Betsy on a cane pole when Louisiana fishing was 0 effort.”

I was in for a shock. The neighbor is my age, a member here, and a legit angler who gave me a proper re-introduction.

And it’s more of an afternoon spot, atleast it was 2 weeks ago. There were hundreds of reds down there in the morning and they wouldn’t eat shit. That may be different with the jubilee but just FYI.

They basically have to provide support or none of the anglers could compete since they don’t know how to turn wrenches.

All those bass guys have tournament support reps. I know, because I went to a bassmasters tournament to do market research and steal their strategy for our sportfish yachting division.

I’m heading west or to the BM.

I’m 0 for 3 fishing Ponchartrain Basin as of late.

I need some confidence boosters to wash off this stink of defeat before it sticks.

I would look west of the river. These fronts have it all messed up imho. I’m gonna try and fish some areas I’ve never been since I’ve struck out 3 of the last 3 times which hasn’t happened in a minute.

    Any size?

I’ve got a Paul Brown corkie tied on and hoping to land a fatty.

I’ll pack a cork rig as well.
