“the feeling of catching my first Venice trout on my own was overwhelming”

    parabéns! you earned it!

Mad respect for going out in tough conditions solo and still making it happen. You’re right about mother nature. Have a plan A, B, C and D. EPIRB wouldn’t hurt. My brother carries one everytime he goes offshore.

I’m gonna probably skip this fall fishing to finish some of my project cars and give you and Thai time to practice.

Also the river was 13 ft when we smacked them this year.

I think low river is more of a factor for fall/winter as they move inside.

Best part about Venice imho is if it’s windy we will fish the protected side, wherever that happens to be. And it’s so close to shore we can always run in if it turns.

Who hurt you Devin that you would dream up such a nightmare?

If you don’t go and are not in Russia or the South Pacific delivering freedom at 3000 ft/sec. then I will HAVE TO assume you are scared of losing the trout portion of this trip to Team Giggalo. And Ben Da Rod or any of your other guide friends are not invited! We’re not repeating what happened in Delacroix.

My brother runs RCW on a FMT boat. He recently got on a few slobs at the fuel dock. I used to be a crew manager for Marquette. What they got you on, 20/10 or 30/15?

Looks great! Fishing, hunting, and gardening are great because it allows you to eat your reward.

    Try this one as well.

It works for trout as well and I made it tonight. It’s my favorite.

I think a little for sale section would be useful but obviously I know this forum is very singular in its mission.

    Just a thought.

Funny thing about data is it tells a story but not the whole one. So Jan-Mar is when I’m flying around the world getting my work goals done early and what you see in Nov-December is final inning when year end review is coming up.

Speak for yourself, you’ve been MIA since that Seatow in May and think about how much work you’ve gotten done. Plus summer is just as productive for me as fall.

I could be convinced to help throw and gather decoys.

I grew up duck hunting public land in Alabama(mostly upper Mobile Bay). From the time I was 8 till 17 I froze my balls off every winter, eventually building my own blinds (and rebuilding) and spending every evening I could after school. Never had a bird dog. Went with a friend, no phones, temp dropped 20 degrees(below freezing) in a few hours and all the water got sucked out of the bay. We realized we were going to die, left the boat(which was on dry land) and had to army crawl in mud with our guns and then swim across alligator alley to get to our vehicles. I told God I would never duckhunt again if he got me outta there alive(for some reason) and I’ve kept my word. But I think the statute of limitations on verbal contracts is 10 years and its been 22. I go to Covey Rise once a year and I can still shoot skeet better than most. I’ve seen plenty of ducks and marsh hens while marsh fishing (especially in the past 2 years) and have toyed with the idea of bringing my gun.

Do you have a duck lease you’re hunting or are you on public land?
