    Oops just realized I needed to update the profile. We upgraded in February to a Carolina Skiff 21 Ls. It’s equipt with a Minn Kota Terrova, Lowrance Elite 9 and a Power pole. But you probably meant motor 🤦🏼‍♀️ Suzuki 150

    I am getting more confident with using casting tackle. Yes on the jigging.

    Thanks for the reply. I made the executive decision this morning to leave the boat at home. 3 days of 20+mph winds not worth the gas money to haul the boat with the t-top acting like a sail and turning the Silverado into a major gas guzzler.

    You could try catfish lake out of the Golden Meadow Park. You can probably find some wind protected areas around there. Like Devin said, the levee would provide “some” wind protection. Theres an excellent bait shop right there too.

    I fish mostly out of Catfish lake and Leeville and have not caught anything since the freeze.. I sure hope you are right!!! 🤞🏼

    We caught a bunch of small Mangrove Snapper midway down in Belle Pass Saturday morning while running from the storms. I am not familiar with those, so I’m not sure what a good size is, but these were all around 12 inches or so.
