Does anyone know anything about fishing Slidell or Cocodrie?

Do you know off the top of your head which video in 101 you talk about transferring KML files to Humminbird?

Thanks for the guidance, Devin. I had no idea about the bowfishing pressure. You are correct, I was targeting a lot of the smaller ponds. We fished Lafite last year and this was a winning strategy for our guides. We are more interested in catching reds and sheepshead than trout but don’t want to overlook a trout bite if they are on. I will spend some time looking back over my plan and post it before we go and likely while we are there. I appreciate the help!

We will arrive in Shell Beach on the 14th. Start fishing on the 15th. Drive home on the 19th.

We are well versed in bass fishing but spend most of our time crappie fishing these days. These pictures are a sampling of what I have loaded to bring. The baits in my hand are crappie baits but are tough baits. I generally fish something similar to the baits in my had to crappie fish. They are 3″ baits I generally fish on a 1/4oz head. From experience fishing from the shore last year, the hooks in my standard jig head are not strong enough. So, I bought jigs with better hooks ranging from 1/8-1/2oz. Looking at the guide you linked, most of my soft baits line up well in profile and color. There are some colors available down there that are tough to find here. If we get into town early enough on the 14th we will stop at a local tackle shop.

As for the Humminbird, it’s a Helix 12 with a Smartstrike Midsouth States.

I found you via YouTube which brought me here. I’ve just started 101 but felt I needed to get a house booked sooner than later, maybe that’s wrong. I made a similar post on Facebook which is where I was told the bass boat is not adequate. Dad is getting older. I want to take him on the best trip possible but want to be safe. I personally have concerns about my boat on the river but, I may be completely over thinking it. As a guy from Oklahoma, we don’t have water like that. I’ll be back in Grand Isle in June with a friend to fish offshore. Sounds like it may be a good idea to go there on both trips.

I looked at it but was told my boat would not be adequate.
