Nice report, thanks. I may hit Venice next weekend. What are these “spillways”? aAre they just cuts in the rocks to the open water? I have some marked with obstructions for a post last year from Devin

Thanks for the report. What are you calling the mouth of the SW Pass? Is that where it splits into three? I’m asking because I’m trying to figure out of I have to run all the way down to the end and that’s a long way for my 18 foot War Eagle with a 90 Yamaha. The spillways you mentioned, those are just cuts in the rocks? I have a bunch of those marked where they have shallow obstructions from a post from Devin last year. I just haven’t made that run yet

You made a good on the fly decision. There’ll be plenty trout in the weeks and months ahead. I’m curious as to how far down you went in the South Pass. Did you get all the way down to the end?

Thanks, I fished the jump and Colette so I’m going down this weekend I’m gonna venture out a little bit. I’ll do a plan Thursday night or Friday, based on the wind and tied and get feedback from everybody.

I thought about chasing trout in Delacroix last weekend but I saw the Flotilla heading out and decided to do redfish until I hear the trout are heating up more. I talked to a guy who did the standard route, 4 Horse, Lake Robin, etc. and didn’t do too well. I want to wait until the Delcroix Highway starts rolling.
I did see a shrimp boat up in Lost Lake though, so the shrimp must be coming in.
