If you are crafty, and have a little time on your hands, you can compile your own maps. I did it about 2-3 years ago by watching youtube videos and googling. I ended up with a very nice satellite map card that covers basically all of south louisiana broken up into big areas. I need to update it now, but I still use it.

Its been a couple of years but be careful on the twin pipelines. Between point 6 and 10 you can make it if you stay in the middle and dont dilly. North of 4 horse lake I say is a no go zone. I have heard of plenty people get stuck up there. Go back to terrabeauf from four horse lake through the pipeline canal to the east of the twin pipeline canal.

Thanks for the feedback! I do like the idea of going west towards lake Lery. Being in the kayak I can combat launch easily there and head west. Again I plan on staying on top of the winds and tides up until the last minute and that will make a big difference into which way I go. I also need to spend a little more time in google earth on the time slider. I like to know where the water will be at all levels, and knowing what it was in the past helps a tremendous amount with that. I spent some time yesterday plotting routes for wherever I launch. I still dont know if the O’lady is gonna let me out of the house but I am working on it.
