MemberOctober 26, 2024 at 1:28 pm in reply to: 10/27: I’m going, just don’t know where yetThe tide isn’t predicted to fall at Chef Pass until around 1 PM 10/27. The tide at Shell Beach is predicted to start falling around 10 AM tomorrow. With the wind pretty much staying below ~5 mph tomorrow I would launch around 8 – 10 AM tomorrow morning at (whichever launch you feel is best) and head straight to East Biloxi Marsh and fish outlets, points, passes, and Oyster reefs. If you just want to stay in the Lake, I would still head to Bayou Biloxi and fish all the outlets from there down to St Malo, working my way to the Intracoastal fishing the outlets of the MRGO (Martello Castle). Once the you reach the Intracoastal you can work your way back up to your launch. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

Man that’s awesome to hear!! Great report!

They’re both pretty important but in my opinion I would to say Navigation / Sonar. You can always use a Cajun anchor, drift, or just a normal anchor. Without electronics you wont be able to upload plans, pull tracks, etc.

Hello!
I think your plan to stay in the interior of the marsh is a great idea considering the strong NE / ENE winds predicted for Sunday. It for sure will make any big body of water very rough.
Your St Malo plan looks to me to be a very solid plan. It should be pretty protected in there. Also, your spots 7-11 should produce if the tide is falling and the wind stays as predicted. Hugging the shoreline to get to spots 7-11 is a good idea.
I’m assuming your going to run through Stump Lagoon and Muscle Bay to Bayou Biloxi to get to your spots in Bob’s Lake. If so, I would definitely add some spots to check out on the way.
Also, it might be worth it to take a right turn when you enter Muscle Bay and head to Lake Eugenie and try the bayous that drain into it.
Hope this helps. Good Luck!!

Man that’s awesome!!
Glad you didn’t give up and was able to find them. I had a kind of similar experience in Breton Sound this past summer. Very satisfying when you’re able to find them like you did.
Also, those ships wakes are no joke! Last December a big container ship almost threw me ashore lol.
Anyway, you and another member who posted a Venice report has inspired me to plan an early trip to Venice. Awesome report and thank you!

Checked out both videos and they looked great!
Loved the choice of music and the editing.
Not 100 percent sure if I heard a cuss word or not but, that would be my only complaint if you did cuss, haha. Not that I mind cuss words, I just feel fishing video’s are more appealing if the language is clean or cuss words are beeped out. Beeping them out kind of gives the video a more humorous feel to it if that makes any since.
Anyway, I’ll be subscribing. Looking forward to more videos.
Keep up the good work!!

Man that’s awesome!! I agree that the falling tide later in the morning made all the difference. Not sure why, but it just did. Awesome report, glad you found them!

Ahhhhh!!! I feel your pain!! I ran EVERYWHERE August 1st in the Sound and could not catch ONE fish!! I kept saying to myself “This is why I go to Cocodrie!!”, lol. It wasn’t until we pretty much gave up and decided to try the long rocks on our way in when we finally caught fish. The tide was rising all morning at the rigs until ~10 AM, water was okay but better at the rocks. The tide was falling when I made it to the rocks and water clarity was actually a lot better there then out at the rigs. There was a lot of shrimp action in the tide line coming off the rocks whenever we fished it also. Like I said in my report, I just could not believe it. I just think I got lucky and was at the right place at the right time during that time of the day. I mean that with no discredit to the process of elimination or plan. Also, I know it doesn’t matter what color you use while on biting fish but I have just seemed to be having the best luck with Matrix Shad in Magneto.
Anyway, bummer man! At least you had a beautiful ride out there though. I use to love watching the green glow behind my ship while I was in the Navy and also looking at the stars in the middle of the ocean without light pollution. Truly something out of this world.
Thank you for the report!

Thank you sir!

Yeah, they were absolutely stoked to get on a good bite. They all said they had a blast.
I felt like a hero for sure, but I did tell them that the castle was a very well known community honey hole. They still didn’t mind.
I agree about the HDS. It for sure would have made life easier and most likely would have produced way better. I did explain to everybody what a HDS is and that using the HDS was the way to fish that area. But again, not having them premade or rigged up in the first place was on me. I just personally love jigging so much.
It really helped build my brothers and one of my friends confidence level up though. Both of them have never experienced anything like that before but once they got the hang of it it was on and they kept reeling them in.
Anyway, Thank you!!
