Apologies this is so late. I agree with all the responses above. I just posted a report from 4/15 about the MRGO. South of Terre aux Beouf is going to be dirty, Lake Robin and Lake Coquille could still be good. The Long rocks for sure have nice fish on them but it’ll be a boat show for sure. Hitting those coves mention above would be good. Good luck, hope you crush it!

Yep, it’s Marsh Romance of Skeeter Hawk for me! I also was lucky to get Swamp Fire and agree that it was a good one.

Dang! Bummer you have to sell the boat and move. Hopefully you can get out and crush them before you have to do all of that. Great report, thank you!

Yep, I feel ya on just wanting to catch a few fish and get home at a good time to relax. Don’t get me wrong, I love catching limits but if I don’t it’s all good. BTW, I fished the Southern part of the MRGO and that WNW winds made it BRUTAL! Great report man, thank you!

Thank you for helping those folks out, you the man!

Also, even though you didn’t get on them, thank you for still posting a report.

I love fishing that area, especially in the summer. I’m talking mostly Cocodrie.

Next time you’re able to go fishing and the conditions allow it, I would try out the Bird Island reef, Point Mast reef, Sulphur mine, and the rigs if you’re able to get down that far south.

April 14th 2023, I wacked the absolute crap out of the trout at the Bird Island reed using a Berkley rattle shrimp under a Four Horsemen cork. That was 2023 though, last year I did best at the Sulphur mine and rigs jigging the bottom.

Hopefully you’re able to get on them soon! Great report, thanks again!

    0 Sea Turtles!! 😂

    That’s funny!

I guess 13 was the number yesterday because that’s all I brought home yesterday as well, lol.

Glad you got on them again. Great report, thank you!

Didn’t mean to post a reply here. Am I missing something or is there just not a comment delete button? Lol

Welcome! Stoked to have you! All the way from PA, wow that’s awesome, I love PA.

I might be hitting the MRGO area if Delacroix doesn’t produce tomorrow. If the rock dam doesn’t produce try hitting the flats and points down the MRGO until you get to the Long Rocks, then try them out. You’ll have somewhat stiff ENE wind Wednesday but those spots still should be doable. Good luck, looking forward to your report!

I had my wife watch a Youtube video of a guy eating them raw to prove that they are harmless because she was grossed out by them. Please note, the guy we watched was not a medical professional nor a scientist, lol. If there’s an over whelming amount in the meat I might feed the pelicans, but most of the time I just cook the meat with them in it. Never had any issues with them.

It was still pretty dark when I made it to Lagoon Brady, like I could barely see the white poles dark, so if there was any birds I couldn’t see them. I didn’t see any one the way in either.

The only birds I saw was at the north break of the rocks, but the water was moving so fast through there I couldn’t get on anything if there was anything. I should have drifted back a few several yards with the current but the wind was so brutal I just wanted to get out of there. Also, that looked like straight river water which would make sense looking at the recent imagery of that area.

We did cast up against the rocks, or the green zone shown in you picture, but your totally right about switching to a 1/8 oz. I agree that would have made all the difference. Thank you for recommending that.

Also, no rafting mullets or birds. I think the conditions prevented that.
