Congrats on the book, Devin. I’ve published two of them and, as you know, it’s a lot of hard work. Well done.
I agree about the legacy thing and think it’s noble of you to pursue that. The word needs more of that kind of passion and thinking outside of oneself.
I was not a part of LAFB Elite when it was on Facebook. I’m glad the platform is your exclusive domain, personally.
Keep up the good work, brother.

Loving this trolling idea after watching those videos.
Yes, my kayak would be perfect for that.
It easily adjusts speeds that tops out at 4mph and can control direction with my feet.

Ok. Thanks for the tip.
Also, you had made earlier mention of using a lighter weight jig head at the trestles.
What is the reason for this? I assume it is to keep from sinking to the bottom.
However, I’m on of your YouTube videos, you were teaching the necessity of letting line out after a cast near the piling so the lure could sink to the bottom instead of swinging out on a shallower arc.

Yes, the kayak makes unsnaggimg easier.
Have you ever tried a weedless jig head there?

Thanks for the reply. I am working my way through the courses. So much information. Then getting out on the water and seeing if I can remember half of what Devin taught lol.
Initially it seems like, yes, what a privilege to live so close to a world class fishery. And learning it can be a reward all of its own.

Local knowledge.
Untold hours on the water.
Good communication skills
Means LAFB Elite gold from Capt. Devin (and friends) in the comments section.
As an “Aspiring Angler”, this is why I signed up.
Thank you 🙏🏻

lol that whole area is a lead mine was think.

Thank you!
When did you feel the need to upgrade from the skiff to a larger boat?
-
Thank you, Captain.
I am enjoying the experience thus far.
Yes, it is a grind right now, but the blessing in that is I am getting a lot of awkward beginner stuff out of the way before the fish really start biting.
I’m learning to tie various knots and tie them faster.
I’m learning how to position my kayak on the water better, especially in the wind.
Learning how to launch more effectively.
What kind of equipment to bring and not to bring
I even cleaned my first catch last week with my very own filet knife
Thanks for all you do

Yes I have the Old Town with the spot lock on the trolling motor. It also has rudder steering with my feet. Really nice set up as far as kayaks are concerned.
Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you, Boyce. Where do you stand on the whole boat/kayak thing? I know some who feel too limited by kayaks. And others that have sold boats for kayaks for the sake of lower cost yet still getting enjoyment from fishing.
It’s too early for me to know where I’ll wind up.
