Thanks for all the tips and help. I am going to start at the draw bridge and work my way south.

Yeah the slot is 13″ to 20″ and 15 per person, but you are allowed to keep 2 over 20″ per person. You might be surprised I have caught a lot of them over 20″ this year.

Dang sounds like a spectacular day! Congrats

Another awesome report! This weather is insane, you prep and game plan all week building up all the excitement, and mother nature is over there, looking out the corner of her eye, throwing all kind of wrinkles at you. I’m glad you was able to get out there and slam them!

Great report! I wasn’t certain but thought that was you fishing north of us in the jump yesterday evening. I have a camo center console. We had intentions to fish this morning but with the weather we called it and came on home.

The rods I use for jigging are medium fast and medium light fast, lengths ranging from 6′ to 6’8″,and I am very happy with them. I like the St Croix priemer, St Croix triumphs, and Falcon xg coastals rods.

Oh man that ledge is dynamite!

Thanks for the tips! I have a Xwrap, Depth Strike, 17MR, and scope stix tied on ready to go.

Thanks for the advice, I will tie on a 1/8 oz jig tonight and have it ready to go. Also I will use my drift sock.

After Thursday I will have a couple weeks off and I plan to do a good bit of fishing. This weekend I am planning on going back to Venice, but I will plan a trip to Lake Decade. I will probably fish Slidell a few times being it is close and I feel there is something about the bridges I need to figure out. I haven’t been satisfied with my previous trips out there.

Yeah It was your report I had read on the Rigolets page and my first thought was that’s what I didn’t do. I seen so many other boats just sitting and not moving I figured maybe the bite is slow. Thanks for your report and tips, I learn something and I know its going to help me in my future outings. Red and white curly tails is what I caught every thing on. I figure the red makes them think of wounded bait and an easy meal.

I didn’t have the right plan yesterday (my plan was to graph, find the fish, and setup on them). After doing some studying and reading other reports I should have been steadily moving. I didn’t do that I spent to much time a locations casting at every piling and working the area over. I had already found a pattern were I caught every fish and it was the same. I seen in other reports they were drifting and whacked them or they trolled both trestles and the hwy 11 bridge and whacked them (they stayed on the move/I only moved 6 or 7 times and just fished spots). As of now I plan to go back Thursday and implement at new strategy and hopefully yield better results.

It’s at the intersection of Sugarland Bayou and Grand Pass. You can’t miss it.
