“…what would considered be a good day of catching reds for them?”
Man i remember like it was yesterday my first time catching a redfish and i can guarantee that they wont need much to get impressed. So fighting any reds i believe would a good day for them. I started fishing the East side of the river in the past few months so everything is new to me. So what i will do is let Venice take care of them pretty much, i’m pretty sure in the two days we gonna spend there we gonna be able to catch bass, reds and some trout. I’m going there Tuesday to scout pretty much for bass/reds and see if the trout moved in yet. As far the other two days go, ill just take them trout fishing in the areas i am familiar. Going to make my scouting trip Monday out of Fourchon to see what the trout is doing, and most likely take them there as well when they come down to catch some trout and see what down the bayou looks like, i think would be a all around good experience. Take them eating down there too. But Venice will most likely be the ticket!!!!
In a nutshell, 2 days in Venice will be “fishing days” and the other two days will be exploring the cajun Louisiana, with a little fishing involved! Fourchon to fishing and eating one day, and one day maybe bass fishing in bayou black to come accross some gators and bald eagles.Sorry to bother yall so much but i promise im not trying to get specific spots or drain yall knowledge, just trying to find a north as far as having a good or bad plan. Later today or tomorrow ill share with yall my plans for Fourchon monday

“Why don’t you go to Venice?”
I am 100% going to Venice. So when they come down they gonna have 4 days available to fish. My original plan is go to venice on day 1, fish all day, sleep there, fish all day 2 and head back home. Day 3 and 4 we would fish closer to home, and that’s why i need to scout next week, but my main problem is i only have 2 days available to scout so i need to be very selective on scouting day. Tuesday i am going to Venice to do one last scouting before “game day” but i need to decide where to go Monday. So on the two days i want to fish closer to home i want to focus on Redfish because that’s their bucket list fish, that’s the reason why i want to spend my scouting day looking for reds.

Brother ive been looking in the maps and thought about maybe make a brand new plan fishing this area since i never been and seems very promising. What you think
-
So only reason I’m starting my day looking for reds is because the tide is supposed to start falling at 6 am so I figured I would look for reds while I wait for the tide to be falling pretty hard, then around 12 I would go look for the trout. Also I want to find some reds because that’s what my friends want to catch. And I’ll definitely add the spot on crooked bayou to my route. You the man!

the areas im very familiar with is south of houma but i recently moved to baton rouge so its too far of a ride for me, and hopedale is a new area for me and i have been learning new areas. I only have 2 days to scout to find reds to take my friends. But yeah im also open to learn new areas
-
Oh nice, I missed that. How about the fishing equipment? You do anything other than rinse it off? I’m wondering just about the post fishing. I do take my reels apart once a year to deep maintenance
-
awesome just added 2 fishing spots to my planning, about to unload it all to gps

“Remember that the tide falls first on the Hopedale side, so you can fish the falling tide there then scoot to Martello if you have the time and stamina for an all day trip.”
I will definitely make the time!! I wont spend hours on every spot i marked in hopedale, its gonna be a few minutes in each until i find a good bite, and keep moving regardless. My goal is to learn as much as i can and not get caught up on “limiting out no matter what”. So i believe that around 11 i should be casting the first line at martello. Looks like tons of water to cover between the casttle itself and the MRGO cut into borgne, so ill be scanning most of it before fishing, unless i see birds of course.

“What would make you think it’s shallow? You can’t see bottom detail in any of the imagery on GED (or anywhere).”
To me it seemed like there was mud stirred up when tide was falling but might be one of them imagery glitches, and even though i know its not 100% reliable, navionics also said it was 1-6 deep in that area. Well after tomorrow it wont be a completely new place to me.I will definitely add Treasure bay to the list, ill post a picture with a route to treasure bay and some spots, just to make sure im not running straight to something i dont want to run into.

Honestly barely moving compared to what I’ve seen on rigs before
-
It was definitely rising and it was about .5 mph. It was hard to tell exactly because wind was blowing the boat a completely different direction than the current but, but I could see the current when I would drop my drop shot
-
O I see it now, yeah i was looking at that bayou a few days back as a route from hopedale to lake borgne. If trout fishing sucks I’ll definitely head that way and beat them banks. Should be able to find a red or two
-
I can definitely add that to my plan, I’ll have to look on GED where St Malo is it, i don’t know nothing about that area. Just beat up shore lines?
