I’d scream to Comfort Island and pop corks on the flat on the west side, and fish in its lee.
Then pop corks on oyster reefs in Christmas Camp.
Then after that rigs in Bay Eloi then pop corks in Athanasio, then hit Long Rocks if it’s not covered in river water.

Yeah, that article pretty much describes anything I would say here.
Just be ready to run a lot and probably not catch any keepers. You will get to see some, and that’s fun and enough for me.

That’s fine, they’ve been chewing in the afternoon. See my last report.
That entire shoreline from your western most circle to Grand Pass will probably have diving birds on it.
The Grand Banks reef by Half Moon you will want to look at if it’s not too rough. Your Triton can handle it. Same thing for Cabbage Reef.
The triple tail haven’t been great in EBM based off my last trip, but you can try. It’s still fun seeing them.
Bay Boudreau and Indian Mound Lake had a lot of birds with throwbacks and some keepers.
Kennedys Lagoon is worth looking at. So is the lee side of Half Moon (Grand Island).
It’s gonna be windy, but you have a shot.

I wouldn’t worry about river water to the east given the latest satellite imagery. I think you’ll be fine. Shrimp will be in that crap anyway.

Okay, so I think you got a shot at some fish. That 25′ boat is your saving grace because the wind is gonna be screaming out of the south. The plus side is that the wind will have been consistently doing so by the time your fishing trips arrive.
So here’s what I would do: I would fish rigs and islands in Timbalier. The idea is that you will take an acceptable ass-whupping getting there, but once you’re there you can hide in the lee of the rig to get your casts in. I think you will find clear water in the lee of the islands, too. Rigs 4 thru 7 are probably your best bet.
The afternoon of Saturday and morning of Sunday would probably be your best bet.
I’m assuming you have a 36v trolling motor with a deep shaft to keep your boat planted. If not, bring a rig hook.
You also have good incoming tide that works with that wind. The water will fall in the afternoon, but that window will be abbreviated and the range stunted.
If that strategy is completely off the table, then I’d go to the marsh around Pelican Lake and fish the tidelines and lee of the land there. I’ll be shocked if you don’t find an amount of diving birds. The old sulfur mine could be good, too.
I’d pick out some coves/ponds in the area for Plan Redfish. Soak dead shrimp under a cork, you can’t go wrong with that.
If the wind is just that bad, and given how far north you’re launching, the marsh north of Lake Boudreaux is great for sight fishing redfish. Your Xtreme will do great in there. I’ve had 200+ days seeing redfish there, catching 20-50 redfish. They’re practically all bulls, but you can find some slots in there, however.
It’s gonna be windy. Onboard your people and tell them it’s gonna be a suck festival and the kinda conditions that separate the men from the boys. Don’t be a hero. Under-promise then over-deliver.

Awesome, glad to see this. I’m sure @ShooterMcGrabbin will meme it. lol
Where is 4 Point? I’m not familiar with that launch and it’s not pulling up in a search.

Congrats on graduating. That’s gotta feel good. Then an epic trip on top of that.
Great work. Thanks for posting a report and letting us know.

More shrimp are moving then. Remember that shrimp are leaving for their spawn in the Gulf. They can’t get there on a rising tide.

That’s the answer I was hoping for. When I get home I can put together some good feedback for you. Thank you.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. I also meant to ask what kind of Majek you’re in. An Illusion with a tower? Or an Extreme?

I think the bigger fish will come out when the tide falls which, during spring, happens in the afternoon/evening and at night.

Well, she did the right thing. The Coast Guard, in my somewhat uninformed opinion, shoulda flown a bird out there to look. If you’re hanging on to an overturned boat, you’re not taking a phone call, right?

This is great lmao
