I got a lotta thoughts about it here.

I’d look hard at the reef off of Half Moon Island (called Grand Banks) as well as all the other reefs in Mississippi Sound provided the wind cooperates.
EBM will more likely than not be a throwback festival. Actually, it may not be too different from what you’ve been doing in Lafitte. So, that could work in your favor.

Even FC that light is going to sink and drag the shrimp down. Which is fine if that’s the desired effect. Monofilament is more neutral buoyant.
After that, in the amount of time you’re dickering around with that live shrimp I would have already achieved presentations where they count: on the bottom with something that sinks.
Just something to consider.

Thank you, you’re the man!

“So I got online and tried to order one and realized they have been discontinued. BOOOOOOOOOO.”
Literally what every tackle company does and it makes me so mad. lol So now if I like something I just buy a couple more, and that hurts in the wallet less over the long term.
But, it looks like you did an optimal alternative thing. Honestly, the St. Croix Avid-X is the standard, and I think your custom rod weighs less.
If only someone made custom reels! A 50-size 5oz 8:1 would be heavenly. Preferably one that holds up and isn’t a truck payment. lol

Another great day with your kid! Glad to see it. Now that the river is dropping (slowly but surely) I wonder if the east side is gonna give the west side a run for its money. We shall see.
Great report, thanks for posting!

That’s very good to hear and on par with how that area has historically produced. That’s great news.
Great report and thank you for posting!

Discussion is good. Make more discussion. Discuss. Discuss. Discuss.

“how sick would it be to pull up and start smoking trout on a jig with a rod that looks like a cane pole?”
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha hell yes!

You are on North and West lat/longs. So add the N and W.
That never changes. 30/90 is centered on a junk yard off the ICW in NOLA East, so based off that you can know where a particular set of lat/longs are located just going off the numbers.
Something obvious like 91 degrees is obviously way further west (V-Bay). Something like 28/88 is way further southeast (Venice offshore).
