Definitely, something was up with the fish, it looks like you managed to grind out a good bag of trout for how tough the day was so great work!

Awesome thanks for the insight on the Redfish. Today I would cast it out but keep the line taut while still letting some line out until the line would bounce to slack then start the retrieve. And in the retrieve if I went over a hole and the line wasn’t going slack I would let some line out and let it go slack then start bouncing it off the bottom again. What do you do? Im pretty new to consistently using conventional gear. I mostly only fly fished in the city before I got my kayak so I’ve got a lot to learn.

Awesome thanks for the advice! I have been thinking about trying Eden Isles and heard that area has been producing this year. So I might try that, but if not tomorrow definitely in the near future.

Awesome, thanks for the advice, I’m thinking Cocodrie mostly for trout but we’ll see. Once I see a light air sunny day on the forecast I’m thinking point La hache next.

I was fishing a long stretch of shoreline adjacent to the highway facing the bay. At low tide right up against the shoreline where my kayak was, was all around one foot of water give or take. I was using my paddle as a pole and poling through the flat as even the pedal drive on my kayak couldn’t go down.

Thank you, for the advice, I’m now set on trying Venice tomorrow. Excited to try a new spot and will hopefully figure out the trout down there!
