Tough day in some tough conditions, but man what great feedback from Devin on this trip. Definitely a good report to bookmark and come back to on another day with similar conditions.

How are you liking that Bass Boat? You have a new Ranger right?

My initial thoughts were to check the connections, but I see that you already did that. I would still load them up with some anti-corrosion spray for electronics.

Other than that, if the transducer is only 13 months old, sounds like it could just be a defective one. I’m sure that would be warrantied. Hopefully they get you straightened out!

Great report! Sounds like a fun day regardless of the lack of keeper sized trout. Nothing better than a holiday weekend on the water your family!

Great report man. Sounds like a weird day for sure but I’m glad you were able to make something happen. I’m loving all these reports coming out of this area— I can’t wait to get back out there!

I read your report. Got fired up. Told (asked) my wife that I was going fishing this weekend. Then checked the weather and now I’m sad.

I think there is plenty of truth behind your theory. My usual fishing buddy is the King of Cliches, and every time we launch under a full moon he says some cliche about the bite is going to be tough. I usually blow it off, but he literally said it on my 4/13 trip and we struggled. Then you posted something like this. Lol.

It makes complete sense that with more light at night, they will do most of their feeding. I know the same applies for several different species of hunting, and back when I used to hunt, we would pay attention to the moon. I guess I need to start doing that to a degree for my fishing trips.

I think what @will-grand is saying is some great stuff. Will, you sir are a wealth of knowledge and skill.

Nice report and great trip. Glad you were able to find what everyone else couldn’t.

By the way, nice boat. I have the same.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had this elaborate plan only to scratch it the minute I get to the launch. I feel your struggle lol.

    Great report and great info!

I didn’t end up going yesterday— that wind kept me in, so I did some maintenance on the boat and hung out with my family.

If you do go whack the daylights out of the catfish, I think it would be hysterical if you filmed it and put it on YouTube! You would be doing the Lord’s work cleaning up the marsh of all those catfish!

Yeah man. Next time you need a new TM battery, take a look at LiTime Lithium Batteries. They’re fresh out of China yes, but they are extremely well made batteries. And the best part is they’re about $500 cheaper than the name brand batteries.
