I also tagged my first fish and I’ve decided that I will be tagging many more in the near future!

I really enjoyed the trip and the company! Trip was great for me and I learned alot too. I’m really glad I joined this group as I was very reluctant at first. I’ve learned alot from the courses as well as the forums but building real life relationships with like minded anglers is a huge bonus as well as alot of fun!

Great report! I’m glad to see a positive one. I just got some tags and plan on doing some next month. I’m excited about it as I have never done it.

If you want to fish fresh water, Lake Boeuf and Lake Fields are both good. Both have good public launches. The Socolait are full of eggs and that’s when they are the easiest to find. They get up in the cut grass on the bank and make nests. All you have to do is troll along and jig for them 1 ft off the grass or less. (Photo is to show the cut grass) It’s alot of fun! I’m going later in the week. Let me know if you want more info!

I see guys in Texas fishing the surf constantly catching those. Eventually, I’m going to make a trip!

I can definitely see that! Is there a rhyme or reason to which ones you tag and don’t tag? I get why you didn’t on this one but I mean more on a regular basis.

We can still harvest socolait while we let the marsh heal!

I really hate to see this but this is the reality we are facing. I really hope they do some limit changes and let the population recover.
