Cool, Thanks! I am starting to realize the flow rate is not as important as the clarity of the water flowing out of the river. I was thinking a slow (relative) flow rate would have less muddy water but it appears even in slow flow rates it is enough to muddy up the area if the river water is muddy.

Yes Devin, I agree, find clean water! My last trip we found pretty clean (relative to the other ares) in Lake Lery. I was trying to look for patterns but I think that will come once I’ve fished it several times. I do have a question about the discharge rates. An earlier reply (malice) said it was at maximum discharge but what I am seeing is that it is at minimum discharge. Im seeing less than 1000 cubic ft per second not the 8000 mentioned in an earlier reply. Just want to make sure I am referencing the right data on the USGS page.

Thanks for the info. I need to research those discharge rates again. I was under the impression it was at a minimum discharge but I may have been just looking at what the norms are for this time of the year. If it is close to max rates, that would explain a lot of what I’m seeing. I will dig into them again using the references listed above. Thanks again, I’ll post a report after my trip.

Thanks! I’ll definitely give them a try if I get to that area

Thanks! I’m going back to check out those files in 101. I was so interested in getting into 201 and other courses that I forgot about them. I’ll be sure to check it out before other trips. At least I did eventually come up with the same route, but yes, it could have saved time. Thanks for the tip about setting up the map. I’ll post a fishing report after the trip.
