If you’re opposed to the foot control then I’d go remote all day. I’m 8 years in on a Terrova and it hasn’t given me a lick of trouble. There are other great options with remote control but that’s just the one in most familiar with. I have heard the self-deploying models are more prone to having issues.

Mastering spot lock and also the “North” feature on Ipilot make it where you can be almost completely hands free while trolling. I have a 24v on my 18’ flats boat and it does great
