  • So I am currently cranking through some of your trips and inshore 101 (again). I was wondering the info that you have about transferring GPS data from GED to the graphing device/fish finder, does these pointers also apply to a Raymarin axom 9? End of last year I purchased this new device and I am still learning it. I have not been able to get the plot points and plotted path imported in just yet.

    • Hey Thomas, great question. I would bring this up inside the LAFB Elite Community. I wish I could give you personal advice on what to do with a Raymarine unit, but I have no idea. I just simply cannot master every single chartplotter out there. No one has.

But, if you use the community, there’s probably someone in there who has a Raymarine and solved this problem before. At the bare minimum, we can work through it there. Raymarina is a Navico product, IIRC, so they probably use the same format/process as Lowrance.

      Thank you!

  • Being from Alabama with little knowledge of South LA, this definitely minimized my anxiety and fear of running these shallow marshes. I followed your lessons on mapping for a trip to Delacroix, LA, (first trip fishing this area), and absolutely couldnt have done it without you. Fished 3 days out of my Scout 231xs first day 17reds, second day 36 reds, and 15 reds last day! Already booked my 2nd trip May18th. Can’t thank you enough

    • Wow, those are great results. Absolutely awesome.

You are living proof that applying a little time on water, along with a little elbow grease and knowing what to do goes a long dang way.

Just incredible. Thank you so much for sharing this.
