I really appreciate all the feed back on this towing issue! Getting opinions on matters like towing from experienced LAFB members and Captain Devin is just another reason why I enjoy being a member of LAFB. Since I originally made this post I have done a little more research on this somewhat complicated towing issue and combined with the comments and suggestion from your replies things have clear up a little. There are so many trims and package on these trucks that for someone like me that has been away from owning a towing vehicle for a long period of time it can be a little frustrating.

I had originally over look the 2WD with locking differential and was not going to consider 4X4 but now I am headed in either direction….

Kevin thanks ,good info! As I mentioned in my post that SUV is certainly not ideal for towing my boat. I think the front wheel drive along with the type of tires on vehicle are certainly an issue. I also think that the 400 to 500 lbs of tongue weight on that light weight rear end may possible reduce some front wheel drive traction, just a thought…
