My buddy’s wife who is an engineer at the COE recently told me that Neptune Pass would now be the 10th largest river in North America by volumetric flow rate. Completely wild how much it’s grown.

One thing I definitely recommend is getting on the wlf website and pulling up a map of the biloxi WMA. It has black marks that show dams and wiers (even some of the ones not on the WMA itself). Use that as a starting point, and mark the locations of existing obstructions using GED. The map they have isn’t great but it gets you in the ballpark. Some of the obstructions are underwater when the tide is high and they can bite you.

I have had my tilt and trim get stuck in the upright position before. There is a manual relief that you can turn with a flathead screwdriver, usually on the right hand side but you will need to google your specific model. Turning that should allow it to lower back down. I’ve had mine just get bound up in the past and once I did that it worked like normal. Check around your seals, if you see any build up of dirt/debris you have a leaking seal.

As far as the electrical goes, it does sound like you may have blown a fuse and that’s where I would check first. I’d then grab a multimeter and check your voltages/use the continuity setting to be sure you have good connections everywhere. Good luck, hopefully it’s just something minor and you are back on the water early tomorrow!

Nicely done, thanks for posting! I just finished up a trip to lake borgne this morning and also found them thick, will be posting the report later today.

I noticed a lot of mine had sores on their stomach, I’m assuming they must have been hunkering down low with the crazy wind last week.

Nice report! There were so many skiffs out there today. It was only my second time out there but there definitely weren’t as many motherships when I went last June.

Yeah like Devin said, the first day you are there it will be blowing like crazy. The way to early forecast says it might slow down a little bit, but I don’t trust anything other than Windfinders super forecast because it uses topography and that will only go out 3 days.

I second cat island, probably would be good to wade out there. There are tons of grass flats on the west side of the island so you probably need to go something weedless or top water.

Be careful around the south spit, that sand bar goes a decent ways out. There is also a reef on the beach side that I’ve heard good things about but never fished it. They said you can find cobia around there during the summer.

I would approach it very similar to Chandeleur. Hopefully you will have some good weather!

I shot out of Mud Lake into the Bay, I would normally take the channel if it were darker though.

That floating grass almost reminded me of sargassum, just not as bad as it gets in the emerald coast area.

The boat was in about 2.5/3 feet of water, I think they were probably in about 1-1.5 feet of water. Hindsight after looking at the satellite image from last summer, they were probably working the edge of this grass line. The black circle is where the boat was, the red is where I was casting.

I did, I tried both a normal size topwater and a big one. I don’t know why but they just didn’t seem very interested when I was throwing them vs the subsurface lures.
