With the winds blowing I stayed on the northeast side of lake lery. Gotta fish the conditions and not the spots right?!

Headed there from the gulf side when we fished south pass. Ran in via Jospeh bayou. Seemed pretty open and a straight shot. Didn’t run into any issues

Fished venice for the first time with my 20’ boat last week. Ran down to south pass and fished the jetties. Didn’t get on any trout. Caught a number of huge lady fish. Ended up using that for red snapper bait in east bay. First well head we hit caught our 3 man limit of red snapper in about 1.5 hrs in 60’ of water. There are tons and tons of well heads to fish. If your plan doesn’t call for red snapper I would consider it being that it’s still open.

I was out there at four horse lake working the birds also. We caught 2 keepers with a cork. No dice with a jig or drop shotting, so we bailed. I figured they’d have to be in four horse in the deeper cuts and drains so checked a few other spots on the northeast and southeast of the lake. Not a bite. Ran to a few other spots closer to bakers and point fienne. Weather made it tough so switched to plan redfish and ran into lake lery where we found them stacked up. Caught our 3 man limit in a couple hours. I fished artificial while my buddies fished shrimp. Not much action back at the cleaning tables so I’m sure most people had a tough day.

Confirmed that they were mostly throw backs . She had fun so we stayed catching . I’ve had the same experience as daniel_gig. Birds have been producing small trout around lake p and borgne areas for myself. Maybe I’m finding the wrong flocks of birds
