The Li time lithium batteries supposedly last 10 years. And I’ve heard good things on the battery and charger combos.

I worked for a marine electrical company a few years ago and Trojan batteries were what was used a for a lot of the swap outs I did. They were a bit pricey for a lead core battery.

I don’t have this specific one, this is much cheaper than the three I have. I have a GOAT 150, A Salty 150, and a Hundo.

My experience so far with these is great. I rinse them off every time I use them because they’re usually covered with slime and salt. My only complaint is that on the Hundo I’ve been using it to pitch and flip and on the adjustments I can’t see if I’m tightening or loosening them which has caused me to backlash it more than usual and the adjustment is only on the outside of the reel.

The GOAT 150 I use the most, I just got the Salty which is only $30 more. Casting wise they cast great better than my other brand reels.

But what I’m comparing them too isn’t $300+ reels. All my other reels are citica, curados, and daiwa tatulas.

really depends on where you fish, there is some passes that will have trout starting to migrate in mid August but it won’t be massive amounts of trout. September will better, October is usually really good. then Time change, or fall patterns start with the less light hours because it starts a hormonal change in the fish, also the shrimp migrate too. In the past I’d fish for bass in the summer with an occasional redfish trip and start to fish for trout as they migrated into the fall pattern, my favorite time to fish. There was some August fishing trips where I was fishing for redfish in Lake Catherine and just so happen to find a bunch of trout feeding unexpectedly and end up catching a mess.

I caught a lot of dinks in eloi on Friday, had a hard time leaving them after catching a couple nice trout.

I throw a lipless chrome shad a lot either rattle trap or a cotton Cordell brand both do well.

Nice! I started building my own rods for the reason of trying some different guides and grips that aren’t on production rods.

So I fished Saturday evening 3pm-8pm. Caught around 10 bass, water was high but falling. Found clean water found fish at runouts in canals. A little rain shower came by and cooled it down. Love it when a plan works out!

I use 10 or 12 pound flouro and 3/8 or 1/2 oz jigs. 6fft 6 rod with a high gear ratio reel. Some times I use a 6ft rod, does less wear on your elbows and it’s not like you need excess casting distance. The popping off the bottom and cadence can change sometimes they want it dragging on bottom. Sometimes (most of the time) you have to get it where they can see it! Bridge trout on plastic is a win. Keep at it, I enjoy it mostly when I can go drift down the bridge and not have a boat every 20 yards!

I think hitting bottom between pops is really the key, I usually count 1 second per ft on drop estimating my pops are pulling it 3-5 ft off bottom.

I’ve bought stuff from mudhole, shipping always takes two weeks. But voodoo rods in Lafayette ships and arrives in 2-3 days.

You gotta try a bates hundo, I prefer the 150, but the hundo is super light it 5oz

A red and watermelon ribbon tail worm, which was good because a couple bass up chucked some crawfish while in my livewell. Switched to a June bug trickworm caught them on that too.
