Hi, welcome to the site, I fished this area this week, there is trout on the rocks, places we keyed in on were points and coves in the rocks in MRGO didn’t spend too much time in straight lined areas. Any trout you catch in MRGO will probably be a keeper size and they have been a little finicky, I’ve seen and have experienced fishing the birds out of chefs pass, and by the castle its a mix out there, lots of small fish and boats. if its real foggy I’d recommend launching out of Fishermans friend in chalmette its not much further than driving to Chefs harbor and the trip to the MRGO is a bit safer than going through chefs into the ICW and then over to the MRGO. dont go friday, the wind isn’t good to lake fish, but, if you don’t mind fishing in the marsh or in small bayous, I’d recommend places like Hopedale where there is plenty spots you can go and fish in protected water. Saturday the wind is low 3mph and it should be ideal for Lake P, Use GED and post a fishing Plan, and I’m sure someone will be willing to help you better.

Lost coast Baits, I’ve caught several on the leech, I use the jerkshads a lot. I’ve made several videos using his baits and a lot of the baits he makes aren’t on his website.

I threw all my 13 away it was good for a while. Swapped to Daiwa, now I have a mixture of Bates and Daiwa. I love the Bates but they are high $. I’d recommend the goat or salty 150. I like the hundos but, I like the 150s more.

ok, in the morning Foggy Water Marina isn’t really busy and its a little closer of a drive if your coming from BR, its $7 to launch, a slightly longer boat ride to the tresles. its not as popular because they don’t sell shrimp.

I launch out of bait inc. sorry! The parking lot is a wreck but it’s a good place to launch.

nah!, I can buy 2 crap reels or get 1 really good one, eventually you pay the price. I’m cheap, but I also like the fact they have a 3 year no questions asked warranty and they are made in Texas. I don’t need 10 of them just 2 or 3! I still use my Daiwas and I’ve bought a couple earlier this year.
