I fish pearl river several times throughout the year for bass, west and east Pearl. I usually try to fish it in June- August on days it may rain. Last part of a falling tide. I like to fish it when trout are hard to catch and need a close to home option for fishing.

I watch his videos, good stuff he uses a 6 inch chop block from Berkeley and some 6 inch swim baits. These lures are $14-19 a peice. And he’s fishing to place on heavy hitters tournament, he’s doing pretty good at it too.

Ethanol free is more efficient but, it doesn’t sell as much and chances are you get gas that’s much older that has a little water or it’s degraded from age. Chances are fuel with ethanol is newer and hasn’t been sitting in a tank for long. All the fuel lines made after 2005 are rated for ethanol. I run 87 but I also will put 93 in it. I use star tron fuel additive or mercury’s fuel additive regardless if it sits or when I run it. Since I’ve used star tron I’ve never had any fuel issues. I don’t like my fuel to be any older than 3 months. I ran the heck out of my boat yesterday so I could get the fuel out of it. Because it’s 4 months old. If it sits longer I rather the tank be totally empty. I use to siphon it out and put it in my truck vs it sitting in the boat getting old.

Good report! It was rough yesterday, I went out further to islands, I guess I should have stayed closer in and fished oyster beds. The dauphins were pretty thick they were every where I went.

Welcome, take IF101 it will make the monthly cost worth your money. I’ve launched from the rigolets marina to fish Boloxi Marsh and yes you can definitely do it from your boat. I plan on fishing Friday or Saturday too. I just hadn’t made a planning post yet. If you make a planning post using Google earth Desktop to plan your route, spots, look up wind direction and tide. You will get good advice and can alter your plan to make a more likely safer and successful fishing trip. Good Luck. It’s a really good community here, you will get a lot out of it.

Nice, I’m guessing the trout are already in summer pattern, haven’t seen many long rock reports that were any good.

For me it’s length, weight, components.

Does the rod you’re looking have what you want in all three areas. What makes it worth more than other production rods? Custom rods you pick rod blank, grips, guides. If I get or make a custom rods 1 or more components are usually not available on a production rod or is modified to my liking. G loomis rod have good carbon blanks, some use very high end guides and a common split grip or cork handle it’s worth it if you are wanting the components on the rod

But usually for me if I’m buying a high end blank and guides I might as well get the handle I want so I go custom. JMHO.

Good job! , I would definitely loose the cork and throw a jig. I would have been fishing the long rocks if I wasn’t stuck on long distances jobs right now. Good report

If your throwing top waters with single hooks, your not worried about keeping fish for dinner, it’s good for watching blow ups and catch and release. If you’re really wanting to catch and keep, just throw subsurface lures, JMHO! I it’s the same way bass fishing, I love throwing frogs, blow ups and misses are just part of it!

I did fish the wave breaks, but didn’t spend too much time there, all I was getting was hard heads in the tide line by it. So I moved on. Didn’t fish trash rig, which wouldn’t have been far off, I fished a few smaller rigs, water was nice green, bait every where but so were the dauphins and hardhead catfish!

I’m the same way, I crash if I eat carbs, if I eat breakfast in the morning it’s usually 2 eggs, coffee and water.
