Appreciate that, and you’re right, I haven’t made it through Advanced Inshore Navigation yet, but it’s on the list. Don’t want to end up starring in the next SeaTow Instagram post.
Venice is looking more and more like the better option. The last few tournaments out of Delacroix haven’t produced the weight I’m looking for, so I’m trying to explore other areas and tighten up the game plan. That’s exactly why I’m here, seeking expert advice from guys who’ve made that run and know what works and what to avoid.
I’ve been doing plenty of e-scouting, but I know that only gets you so far without a hull in the marsh. Definitely planning to knock out AIN and start logging some real runs. Appreciate the solid advice.

Haha fair enough, I knew I was swinging for the fences with that one. Appreciate the welcome and the spelling fix too, lol.
Yep, I’m from Louisiana, been fishing these waters for years but usually east of the river. Recently started branching out, and I know Delacroix to Houma sounds like I’ve completely lost my mind, and maybe I have, but I was trying to weigh options for a long shot plan if the conditions, time, and fuel situation lined up perfectly. Definitely not a locked-in move.
I’m running a Simmons Stingray (flats boat with a 300), so no towers to worry about and she runs skinny, but yeah, low bridges and long miles are still very real factors. I’m not trying to Gump my way across the marsh on fumes just to weigh in late.
And I’m definitely open to options east of the river. I agree, there’s gotta be some solid bags out there still. Just trying to scout heavy slot potential wherever I can.
I’ll drop a rough route map next time so y’all can really see what I’m working with. Appreciate you taking the time to break it all down, solid info all around.
