We have the same plan (minus the nephew and trout). Text me, I’ll be out there tomorrow. 251-776-8204

Oh that won’t happen. Plus I have a good network of people that send me intel so I can’t stop now. I have a customer in Angola(the country, not the prison) that has invited me to go catch them in January so I may have an all-expense paid trip to go get one but ideally I can get one locally as well.

Hopefully that day is tomorrow. 🤞

Jon, thank you so much for sharing. I’ll add some of my research as well once I compile it. I know of a couple tarpon holes in Lake P, Lake B, and major passes.
I’m limited by range with my skiff or else I’d be down in Venice every week.
I’m going tomorrow and have a good clue where I can find some pods. I’m bringing everything:
-2 coon pop rigs
-2 NLBN soft plastic swim baits
-live crab
-live mullet / dead mullet
The plan is to get to the spot by 6AM, chum the area I plan to fish, 2 coon pops off the back and casting the NLBN like I would a trout rig as a troll. If I get nothing by 730-8 I’ll spot lock, rechum, and swap the coon pops to live bait, one on a balloon and one on bottom, and keep fan casting.

You’re right. I get too excited and forget my training.

Damn lots to unpack.
So you’re going to do a black ops mission, and need a boat to hop on before hand…
Say less, Sept. 5-6 Venice. We’re getting a houseboat.
Day 1 trout and snapper in the AM, optional redfish in the PM
Day 2 mangroves and TT
Easy on the rip fuel Denman, I dont want to wake up to Private Pyle reciting The Rifle Creed in the dark.

Go work for a global corporation. I’ll be living your fantasy come August next year. Thought I was safe, but I guess my devil may care demeanor is too irresistable to upper management. I got a shoulder tap for a Tally Ho membership so it may all work out.
