I don’t think you can miss if you get there before sunrise. Conditions are right and bait is present. You might have some competition but its a big island.

As long as you dont have a poling platform (like me) you should be fine. Also its only a problem after several days of east wind and high tide. Its always good practice to approach bridges at a slow speed until you know their air draft in comparison to your boat. Those spots are also great for evening redfish with a heavy drop shot. The downcurrent side of them is great in the morning if you need to catch some mullet/pogeys with the castnet.

Welcome Matt!
The courses are a great start and coming into fall you can start applying those lessons right away. However, if you don’t smack them on the first couple trips don’t lose hope.
This fall is shaping up to be a great one and there’s plenty of opportunity to get on some great trout/reds.
If you have any trips coming up put up a planning post with as much detail as you can a couple days before hand and I’ll throw in my 2 cents as I’m sure others will to.

Just know @Boyce IF you do find them first, we know who gets the credit.

@cliffhall My brother is a captain on a towboat and catches hammers whenever they’re docked. He’s an offshore angler and could care less about inshore but he sent me these today. He got on a hot big trout bite today and gut hooked 2 of the 10 he caught. 24 & 26″
He said the others he caught were equal or bigger.

Holler if you need some help. I’ve fixed a couple people’s stuff in here and rebuilt both my boats and outboards so I know a thing or two.

All good man, next time.

3 lbs and flexes in ways fiberglass can’t. I went through several high dollar carbon fiber ones before I switched to bamboo.

All good man, good luck with the repairs/chores. I’ll FaceTime you when we start boat flipping hammer trout.
