I stopped using full spools of fluoro for this reason. Suffix 832 20 lb. braid with 2-3 ft. of fluoro leader and never look back.

You feel the bite, no memory, casts further, etc, etc.

1 oz. HDS or die. <div>

And always medium heavy. With braid you feel everything.

SOMETIMES I’ll use a half Oz over there but I hate losing expensive jigheads. You can get a pack of 16 1oz. For $5 at Walmart.

    Welcome back.

I recommend hitting the courses at night little by little, especially IF101. Some of it I suspect you already know, but as you go along you’re gonna pick up what makes these fish & fishery tick.

I don’t really fish that side too often as I’ve always considered that more of a redfish haven so I’m interested to see it from a locals perspective if the trout stack up out there.

“Pretty much non stop action for the next hour. Bite died. “

yeah, a crew boat ran it TF over. Prior to that it was red hot with headshaking Venice hammers.

We used the soft plastic arsenal today:

    -HDS

    -heavy jig

    -cork

    -double rig

I think the cork was most effective, followed by heavy jig/double rig. We picked up fish on the HDS but not as many as I had imagined.

I think as it gets colder that will change.

Epic day. Venice is work, but rewarding.

Back on my barometric BS, I’ve never fished a quickly falling barometer that wasn’t a banner day. Today was just another example. Got eaten by mosquitoes at the trough which is my voodoo litmus signaling nature is feeding prior to a storm. 2 data points are a coincidence, 3 are a trend.

This was the last public comment before the vote. It was worth sharing and really nailed the message.

I’m so glad I’m not in BR right now. I would not be able to contain my rage.

They are stripmining our ecosystem and lean on the LGL study that was funded by the same interests whose goals are to take more and more.

I am old enough to remember the gillnetting industry trying to whitewash their impact by saying its people’s way of life in Alabama.

Since they were outlawed, the redfish population has rebounded since I was a kid. The aquaculture industry is growing, not shrinking. My uncle sells his oysters for $2/PC. They can always pivot and make money. They don’t want to, no matter the impact.

    They 👏 don’t 👏 abide 👏by 👏the 👏law 👏today 👏so 👏who 👏gives 👏a 👏fuck 👏what 👏the 👏buffer 👏zone 👏is?

Go ahead. Fact check me. They don’t give AF about what the law is. They turn off their AIS purposely. Go to this site, scroll to the bottom of the page. You will not find an AIS reporting recently. They will say government shutdown, but they NEVER report. I have been next to them 3 times this summer and they were not broadcasting. They are a criminal organization and I have the logs. LDWF does not give AF. The most recent Landry appointee was installed to BROADEN not restrict this industry which is why he is bringing the buffer reduction.

An an extremely drunk Cocodrie local who I sat next to on a flight gave me these spots to check out. I figure since those are your waters you can try them out before I can.
