Damn hate to see you go! You got my number if you’re ever back in town and don’t have a boat I got you! Thanks for the report!

How did that trolling motor perform? Man, Mrytle Grove kicked my butt enough! One would think I would have mastered it as much as we launched from there but not so… Definitely batting under 500 there. I feel like I get lucky every now and then right place right time. Then when we struggle, we get reports later on of people doing good either in Grand Isle or Port Sulphur. Either way good report! Sounds like the trout are definitely moving out. Thanks for sharing!

Tesla in Ludicrous mode!! LOL! My Bro-N-Law never goes fishing and the first time I take him he hooks into a Spinner Shark in Myrtle Grove! The second time we made it to GI Gulf side rocks and he hooked a Sea Turtle! I think I was trying to figure out what to do with it on side of the boat and I think it got off. Yeah I wasn’t putting my fingers near that thing lol. Clean green water would be a sight for sore eyes about now! That area is on the agenda soon!

Same here except been using 20lb mono for a leader. Think I’ll be switching to FC for a leader

I like your sequence starting out close to the marina. Definitely worth a try. I believe #1-6 is relatively shallow so I would think if you didn’t see signs of life move with a purpose. 7 and 8 have some depth to them, and I like @johnawill ‘s idea about finding oyster reefs. As far as how far out I would go… I would take a SWAG and say no further than the middle of Barataria Bay. I can’t say that I would stick to that plan… (ended up in Grand Isle and beyond once or twice lol). I would think any rigs or oyster reefs near the beginning of the bay would be worth trying. And of course, anywhere @WestbankJosh would fish!!

I’ll be out there this weekend fishing the release over 20 tournament. I haven’t picked any spots out yet, but the long rocks were my SWAG. Thanks for the report!

The girlfriend and I are fishing the tournament in HD Saturday, or we would have been headed to Myrtle Grove. My motor suffered a catastrophe (Cracked starboard side cylinder head) during the freeze so it will be nice just to get out on the water. Good luck in MG!! And don’t forget about the lower unit killer in Hackberry Bay. Stay off the big motor around that thing!!

I just use a extra boat battery and drag it in the house (My girlfriend is pretty lenient) lol. I recently bought a 12v lithium battery to run on the boat solely for my Garmin. Attached is a screenshot of what’s available at Walmart. I paid more for the one I bought but I plan on using it all day some days. I’m sure the 2ah battery would be good for a few hours at a time just for the house.

Sounds like a plan. I’ll be launching out of Beshels. @WestbankJosh may meet us there.
