    Definitely, Cliff. Seems like everyone in the state is having a rough time finding birds. We killed 14 in Gueydan last Saturday and we were by far our best blind. 2 the following morning. Been hearing bad reports all week. I’ve obviously opted for the fishing this weekend!

    Thank you for taking the time to give me such detailed feedback, Capitan! I have adjusted my plan to do exactly this. I am going to focus primarily on the Lakes of Bayou Marron and Bobs Lake. The tidelines in most recent imagery are gnarly out there. I’ve attached an updated screenshot to the original post showing the spots I plan to check out in those areas.

    Noted. The only time I’ve ever been in the Biloxi Marsh (Bay Boudreau), we caught our limits solely by finding a couple solid groups of birds.

    “Once 9am rolls around, I’d scream down the east shoreline of Lake Borgne while looking for diving birds on that falling tide out of bayous, and hit Doulut’s Canal. Then I’d scream over to fish Martello Castle. If you’re running late, go straight to Martello.”

    This very well might end up being our plan for Sunday morning. However, if the marsh does not produce, we will 100% give it a shot on Saturday. Could you clarify the area that you’re calling Doulut’s Canal? I can’t seem to find it labeled as such on any of my maps.


    Again, I very much appreciate you taking the time to break down my plan and provide an alternative. That was exactly the feedback I was looking for. I feel like we’ve now got a real shot at putting together a nice box. Please let me know any flaws you may see with this adjusted plan. Thanks!
