Damn!
If you were to do it again tomorrow, what would you do differently? Go straight to islands?
-
I’ll be behind you on Saturday so I’m interested to read your report!
Here’s the digits for Holy Cross

I think fish could have been caught at central….
-
Islands or rigs first?
That is the question now
-
Nice! Always a great feeling when you find them after going the distance
-
I kind of think the large tide range Sunday had them hiding in deeper waters. Did you see many boats stacked up at 3 mile?
-
Nice!

I’ll likely be doing something very similar to your option two this weekend.

Getting up early and running far doesn’t bother me. I’ll be planning to do that Saturday. I have one concern only, and that is possible debris in the water on my way out before day light. Water is higher in Shell beach right now, but not extreme.

“Do not forget the big bank sinkers for that Breton deep water. I’d have some 2oz sinkers ready to go.”
That’s how i have the HDS rigs set up – there will be 5 of them in the boat when i leave the dock, for 3 anglers.

Basically what I plan on doing Friday! 👆👆👆leaving my dock at 5am and not looking back. I’ll be on ch.69 on vhf. Holler at me if you’re out there.

I fished several reefs that were 4-4.5’ and two that were 5-6’. I caught the one or two fish at comfort about 50yrds away(towards the island) the ridge / reef that runs N/S along the west side of the island.
Fish in Borge were caught in 9-12’ of water on the HDS. What’s crazy is I found them in the same area of Borgne that I’ve been catching them the past 6wks. (Yea – I’ve been slacking on uploading reports). When I left the dock, I had the devil on the left shoulder saying “dumbass, don’t know why you’re going out to the east when you know you’ve been catching them right here. Dont you know what fuel costs today?!” And then the angel on the right shoulder was saying “think about how sweet it’ll be riding out as the sun comes up, and getting out there to smash em… then let’s not forget the beautiful bliss of the 30-40m ride back while you reminisce on the success”.
Let’s not forget the many times I’ve heard my old man say on various trips as we head out and “go the distance”. —— “son, you telling me there’s no fish between the dock and all of the way out here?”. lol
