Awesome write up!
I came up on two kayakers near Crooked Bayou and Tony’s Lagoon on my way out. Kind of scared the shit out of me as I was coming across a bend in patchy / heavy fog. Saw them off in the distance about 300 yards ahead, flipped the switch on my ‘mega beam light’ and immediately saw them for what they were and slowed down. These two guys had more gear on their ‘yaks than I’ve seen on my friends Viking! I said to myself, these guys are some die hards that left the dock WAY earlier than me to be in this spot by now… and to navigate the thick fog in the dark – just wow. So I chuckled in awe as I read that portion of your story. Hats off!

What did you use to plot your plan? The legend is a nice touch!

I ran this route a few times, and as recent as March 7th. I stayed on the east side of twin pipeline. I’ve also shot thru Robin to the pipeline canal that leads to Cautro Cabalo. It just depends where I’m coming from.

Truth be told, I had vaguely remembered reading someone’s comment on Geremy’s post saying don’t be alarmed if they saw a guy in a skiff with a dog and a kid… so I knew when I saw the skiff with a dog and a kid, it was you. I just didn’t remember your name on here so I threw out the “I read about a legendary fishing report yesterday” to break the ice 🤣
No chance would I pull up on an “outsider” saying anything about a fishing report on this forum!!

Pointe Fienne wasn’t ripping. It was just a steady flow.
At Duluth’s, I was throwing it on the outer edge of the tide line. Perhaps I wasn’t hitting bottom here, given how fast water was moving.

Wow! Been going in and out of Duluth’s a while now, and have never spotted the pilings on the west side shown here. I know now.

He’s keeping his boat next door to mine in Ft B. We are boat neighbors! I’d absolutely just drive it down. Kids enjoy boat rides!

Adding the color legend on GED is a skill I haven’t learned. Plotting points and a path is certainly familiar. I’m going to do some homework.

Just now seeing this! The run south is really not a bad one from the slip. I’d prefer to just have a longer ride out in the boat vs trailering. Arrival and departure are so much easier when I don’t have to trailer – especially since I typically have kids in tow. Coming from Madisonville just makes it that much easier when all I have to do is load the poles in the truck!

Jason.- same here man. The ride back was pleasant. We drifted Fienne and hit some wind driven banks on the way back to occupy the kids a bit. 4 small reds, and I was back at campo’s for refuel at noon.🤙🏻

Ya got me! I got whipped in EBM last weekend w/ only 3 fish in the box, and wasn’t about to have it happen to me again! Last minute decision last night to go this morning and checked the forum and said “shit on it! I’m headed south”
