Yes! I’ll be fishing eastern shore of Borgne Saturday morning due to a time crunch / prior engagement later that afternoon.
Unsure about this tide range…

Maybe
Just maybe
Since we have a decent SE wind from now til Friday night, perhaps the water will be pushed up against the west side of Borgne
And Saturday wee hours of night, wind goes to 0, which maybe allows water to rebound back towards east side, helping that very lackluster rising tide Saturday morning

Did you recently update your garmin?
Reason I ask, I also had transducer issues yesterday. I saw that my garmin was asking me to update. I declined. I did, however, sync with my iPhone garmin navionics app, as I had several points loaded on there that I wanted to populate on my boat unit. I’m not sure if that defaulted an update on my unit or not. Just today, I was speaking with my wife’s uncle who is a bass master fisherman. He told me all of his buddies including himself are in experiencing issues after the latest garmin update. I’ve got to call garmin tomorrow to start the diagnostic process on mine.

The catfish fillets were clean – no worms.
They’ll eat just fine!

Here’s a glimpse of the fight with the gator. Too bad my kid wasn’t filming sooner

Good report. Too bad you didn’t find em.
As I was reading the part about you running down MRGO headed to the rocks, I immediately thought to myself “oh boy, wait til he gets to where it opens up at athanasio…” and then I read the next sentence. I chuckled to myself. Been there before.
I think the windy route to the back side of the dam from bakers canal is a fun ride. I always enjoy it – just be careful of the blind turns.

maybe they are using DSC(digital selective calling) via MMSI numbers. I know my VHF has a personal MMSI number.

I’m siding with you on this. Quite some time ago (let’s just say over a year), someone mentioned that to me. At the time, I had no real interest in taking that conversation any further, so I accepted the answer and moved on. I find that I do that often with certain things that I’m not ‘that’ interested in.
I’ll scan around more frequently to see if i can pick them up. I’ve lately just been putting it on 69 and not paying any mind to it. 69 is the channel me and a few other fishing buddies stay on when down there.

I wasn’t saying I’d fish the west side. I’m staying on the east side. I was hypothesizing that the wind (or lack thereof) may create a large tide swing than the tide chart shows, which could help me on the east side (more water movement). I’m certain I didn’t articulate this well initially.

Keith, the eastern shore will be clean. I’ll be on vhf ch.69 if you’re out there Saturday morning.
-
Very nice. I had thought Saturday night when I was driving home that I should have thrown a topwater when I was on the eastern shore…
When you say you knew it wasn’t going to be a quantity day, what led you to that conclusion?

Mark this day. I will forever go down in history as the catalyst to you becoming “Devin the trash fish legend”. 🤣

I appreciate your input, Devin! I’ll be sure to share a report.
