Thank you for the report. We were out there on Saturday and didnt do much good. Glad yall were able to scratch some out.
@Daniel_Gig How is Chef Harbor? I have launched at South Shore Marina the times I have been out there because I wasnt aware of Chef Harbor. Last weekend with the low water, it was a close call getting the boat off the trailer at south shore. It would be nice to have another option to launch from in that area. Plus parking and restrooms with kids and women at south shore is not the best.

Im around Baton Rouge as well. It makes for a long day for there and back trips. I hate waking up at 3 in the am.

Welcome. I think that area can be a tough area to learn but there are a lot of opportunities around around there and a lot of places to go from there. We were just at that marina this weekend. That is one of my favorite marinas.

Thank you for the report. Good to see trout are still out there and starting to be caught. Seems like it was only reds for a spell after the freeze. Hopefully more will subscribe to the catch and release or only take what you need philosophy for a while.

How often do the flood gates close? Is this something to consider that happens periodically?

Thats a nice table full. We fished Grand Isle a few times over the past summer but werent able to get out on the outside due to weather each and every time. That sounds like such a great trip. Hopefully this summer I can get out. Also in a 24′ bay boat.

I need to have the bunk supports replaced on my trailer and I am dreading that for this reason. That and I am a little uneasy about having the boat fork-lifted off the trailer. I need to do it soon before it starts to warm back up though.

I use the hose port at the base of the power head. I thought that was the preferred method…? I dont run it on that but I use that flush it after every trip. What is the difference on one vs the other?

Do you have any recommendations of other places to stay? I do really like the marina and have stayed there several times, just this last weekend was the latest. Being able to wet slip the boat is very nice. Having other options is always nice, just in-case. Thank you.

Im glad you mentioned that. On GED it doesnt look very big for the press that it gets.
