Thanks for the report. My day went about the same except on the north side of the trestles.

I have read a lot of good reviews on the Li Time batteries. Are you able to charge the cranking battery directly from the engine? I read that the charging systems on some motors didnt work well with lithium batteries. Might have just been with some of the Yamaha Motors. I replaced my trolling motor this year. Went from 24v to a 36v. the added weight from the trolling motor and additional battery I lost 3 MPH. Which doesnt sound like much, but when running with a buddy’s boat, that 3 MPH gave me the extra edge. LOL. bragging rights. So I have been considering swapping to a lithium just for the weight savings alone.
Never mind the cranking/charging questions. Saw you answered in a different post and read it too fast.

After all the reports of the lake being so dirty for so long, I was surprised at how clean the lake was.

I launched out of the Pointe as well. It was a mad house. Trucks/trailers parked on the road after the parking lot filled up.
Im
glad others noticed the finicky bites as well. I thought it was just me. A bunch of light hits and lost several right at the boat.-

Thanks for the report. I dont know much about outboards, but a heat soaked starter can cause some of those symptoms in automotive engines. Also a loose or corroded battery terminals.

Its always last minute for me, but I will be out Saturday.
I see some talk about Lake P. but is it too early to start in Borgne? I’ll have the family tomorrow so it makes it hard to pick up and run every 15-20 minutes.

Congratulations. Getting a book to this point isnt easy.

I didnt know about Puglia’s. I dont know that I NEED any more gear, but….. its hard to pass a good deal. Coming from Baton Rouge it would take a lot to offset the fuel costs. I do need a couple snapper rods/reels. Maybe if I hit the Sportsmans show, Puglia’s and Chags it might make it worth the trip.

An Islander stay is definitely a trip on my fishing bucket list. That sounds like a ton of fun. Fish all day out on the flats/wading/from the boat and the come back and fish the lights at night.

That is tempting. The bad part about keeping my boat at work, is everyone knows when I play hooky to go fishing. I didnt think that through 100%.

I must have missed the original. Thanks for the bump. I have put it into GED just in case.

Congrats. Looks like a nice clean boat.

Im not much help on this as I use the cheap walmart glasses. But I have wondered how much of a difference the more expensive glasses make. I am hard on a set of sunglasses (in the event that I even remember to bring them out with me).

Thats good info to have. Thank you.

Outside of working on the bridge or maintenance it is default to open. The first time I fished the trestles, I crossed under it. We fished for about 30 minutes before the bridge closed. It stayed closed with no train in sight and I was getting worried that I was stuck on that side. I called the number on the sign on the side of the bridge and the worker (manned out of AL I think) explained everything to me. But for a few minutes I was a little worried to say the least.
