“Spotting lighting of deer”. Everytime I see the term redfish jubilee, that’s what I hear. That analogy is spot on.

I feel like winter time the pelicans are always acting like they are starving to death.

With the freeze that just happened, Im thinking about getting into fishing for panfish and other freshwater species.

I’m fishing for bites mainly as it is.

All those fish… the dead trout in the crystal clear water is just heart breaking to me and LDWF hasn’t made any statements on the fish kills.

I posted on their Facebook asking if they had an overview on what the impact was. No reply yet

BREAKING NEWS!!!! Got my boat back today!!!! Yay!! One problem… well two. They damaged my trailer… and marred the shit out of the trim caps.

The trailer step is broken, could’ve been a heavy person jumping on it, but they must’ve noticed right? I told them order the step, I’ll fix it myself.

The trim I didn’t notice till I got home. Not the end of the world, but if I wanted it marked up, I would’ve done it myself. This is a professional shop, not my buddy in his garage. Wtf right? Or am I over reacting?

It was all good, she didn’t have the patience for it. Had her cast a few times, but the playground and trees to climb were calling her name.

As for the filets, I had no idea since I hadn’t eaten that before, but it’s not a white meat fish. It has orange meat like salmon does. We smoked it half shell style with brown sugar and some other seasoning. Came out great. But it has tiny bones in it, maybe I didn’t fillet it properly? Idk. Super clean meat since they are fed pellets or whatever at the farm. No worms or anything like you see with specks

But it was still fun. The bad side was it was impossible to figure out a pattern. It felt like I hooked 2 or 3 pretty quick then the bites were random. They weren’t relating to structure or shoreline like we are all used to

Edit. They put a good fight on an ultra light setup. Jumping out the water and everything.

Looking at Facebook, there doesn’t seem to be much laying off of any species.

I’m relatively new to fish kills like this, is this a common occurrence? In the last 5 years I don’t recall seeing fish kills on that magnitude.

Oh really? That doesn’t sound fun at all lol… other than the adventure of going out there

Just spent 30 mins day dreaming looking at their site. Wish I could reasonably afford to do one of those trips. That must be crazy catching 100lb+ tuna.

Thanks man, yall have me looking at the bass trackers now… and since they have actual seats and not a leaning post, it sounds like my wife is giving me her blessing. Just need to make the decision

Making it work. I like that the flat boats are so versatile, especially the smaller ones.

I need to experiment with the track recording on the app. Removing my SD card off the Simrad is too time consuming

I was wondering the same thing. Texas made regulation changes after their last freeze. But Louisiana, probably not lol
