@MLeBlanc a lot of those lake B trout have pushed out further. This time of year, especially after say 9am, I’m looking for birds and other signs of life. By July, I don’t bother wasting too much time on the north side of the marsh, I typically run straight out if I can. Yesterday I never found CLEAN water over there but did find fish, the water they were in was only slightly better. Birds are your friend this time of year

I know it’s been high, and the threat for opening was there, no doubt, but I think the media hyped it up/fisherman are terrified of it.

On a side note, everyone remain on the lookout for river debris. At the long rocks like 2 weeks ago I saw maybe 4-5 giant trees float past me in like 20 mins so there’s a lot of trash out there anywhere on the coast. Even ship island(or one of the other ms islands) had a tree wash up

I don’t think it’s anything abnormal, it’s still relatively cool waters, oxygen levels should be good with all the wind we have had, the fish should remain active longer. Combine that with the fact that the fishes internal clocks are telling them to build up for the migration/ spawn and the bite should be good.

What I’ve personally experienced this spring has been that when I find the fish, the bite is strong. Lots of fish breaking their lips to free themselves. But the fish have generally seemed to be coming through in small groups. Hit 4-5 fish then have to move or wait to get another bite. Thats what I’ve been finding a lot of

Fished the long rocks on the 23rd. It was super muddy with a bunch of floating trees…The further out i went, the worst it got. I am assuming it was all coming from the mouth of the river.

While I know everything you’re saying here is true, Isn’t this the “networking” part of inshore 101? Yeah I’ve probably had to fish with 20 people to find 2-3 good ones, but eventually you find someone who is contributing equally (or as close as possible), not totally annoying or abrasive. Or any other number of personality traits that would make you not want to fish with them…

Sometimes your “network” will have a report they want to keep the lid on, but might be willing to share more with a handful of trusted anglers in their network.

Like if I get on a fire mrgo bite in early winter, I’m not handing over the same detail when posting for 100’s of people to see, as I would if it were an angler who I know that can and will return the favor. Because I know my network won’t go pillage my spots, they wont go post online like they discovered the fish, and I can trust that they will be good stewards of the fishery.

Maybe I’m half reading… just my thoughts

I’m planning on fishing tomorrow. I’ve had my butt kicked in lake p so many times fishing the trestles, but something tells me it might be worth a trip
