“Not even the gaftop-palooza in Bayou Maron to Bobs lake was happening.”

That I know exactly what you’re talking about LOL Yeah, they’re not there? What’s wrong with the fish?

Biloxi Marsh used to produce so well….well you know everything I’m gonna say. It’s just that we’ve hit rock bottom when the gafftops pop smoke. LOL

“Maybe they ate their asses off last night with the full moon…”

Well, what’s interesting here is that we have enough good members posting reports that we can ascertain if this is the case. Well, @Geremy was able to bounce around and eventually limit out. So I think that fish were biting at some point in time, they just may have not been in the Biloxi Marsh. Who knows?

If I were you I’d do something like what @jbohannon45664 has planned in this post. Or go to Seabrook and look for diving birds in the lake. They have to be out there!

Great report, thanks for posting, and hope you’ve been well.

    Wham, bam, thank you ma’am!

This is what we should be seeing in November. Thank you for holding the standard high and making it happen. And now you have a crystal clear idea as to what pattern to fish, other spots to try and where to go on your next trip.

Excellent work and great execution. Very good job not getting sucked into fishing the same spot all day without catching.

“I thought we would catch more fish earlier in the morning rather than midday and early evening.”

My guess is that the tide was falling for longer, and that was why. Also, did you fish the bottom at all at either location in the morning? That could’ve made the difference. Just dropping an HDS over the side of the boat would do it.

If you were jigging and you knew you were hitting bottom, that would be good enough for me.

Bang. That’s what I’m talking about. How does it feel to go into a new area and whack em from scratch?

15 reds out of a kayak with a fly rod is incredible. You are doing way better than anyone else I know of in Louisiana. Excellent work. You’re the man!

The area of east Lake Pontchartrain from TRT 2 to TRT 4 could have diving birds.

As for TRT 10, don’t fish just the mouth of Mud Lake (aka Little Lake). Also punch all the way to that northeast cove and look for diving birds. They ought to be in there.

    Good luck.

Be sure to let us know how you did and we can give feedback. Thank you so much for your effort.

    This man cannot be stopped.

Okay, great plan. Folks at home, looky here, this is how it’s done!

The wind is playing in your favor, too. That’s a lot of ground to cover, but better to have and not need than need and not have when it comes to fishing spots. They’re free. lol

Those wing dams (or weirs) south of Joseph Bayou, I think that’s where you can make your money. I like to fish them, then move to the rocks and jig those. Just be mentally prepared to snag and break off lures. It’s just part of the game.

Those stretch of rocks south of First Spillway can be good, too.

I think it will be a good day to fish Southwest Pass and you’ll explore a lot of it. Good luck!

You sure are going to drive past a lot of primo fishing getting to Christmas Camp Lake.

I’d pick out a dozen spots closer in. I’d fish the typical fall shrimp pattern and the flat pattern that Cliff Hall figured out.

I do think Hopedale Lagoon and Oyster Bay are a good start, but you will be learning where they ain’t. Definitely try out some deep holes, too.

    Good luck.

“Just tell me both these plans are terrible, and I will work in the yard.”

Ha ha ha ha ha literally how I feel sometimes. But you know that ancient wisdom: “Ya gotta go to….”

Is sure do like the idea of fishing Delacroix to try the flat pattern that Cliff Hall figured out. I’d also look hard at Bayou Lingeo and Bayou Robin where they dump into the lake for a shrimp pattern.

She’s at 3.5ft and there’s no crap crossing Lake Borgne. That image is from the 4th.

Well spoken. My hat’s off to this gentleman and I appreciate him and the handful of others who have found time to get off their ass for something that’s genuinely important (rather than send me an all-caps email “bUt tEh pOliTiciAnS”)

I couldn’t make the meeting, but by the context it sounds like the same, beat-to-death and disproven arguments are being made for the menhaden reduction industry.

Whatever, Louisiana. Destroy your fishery. Go ahead. See where it gets you. Choose your adventure!

    “putting at risk jobs”

Well what about my job? What about LAFB? What about Gus’s Tackle? What about Cypress Cove Marina? What’s the point to all this if the fishing collapses and we have to *drum roll* learn it all the hard way like the East Coast did during the late 1800s?

    Just venting.
