Hey Kendall, I’m glad you’re here.
Thank you so much for posting an intro. I hope to see you post again. We can make this forum something awesome and valuable for inshore anglers.
Tight lines!

Hey Mike, thanks for posting an intro! You posted some really good reports in the FB group, and I hope you can replicate that here as well.

That skiff does mean things to redfish in shallow water, it has to. LOL
PAC is a great place to sight fish, like those ponds around the sulphur mine can be really good. Just watch out for all the pipelines and what not around there.
Years ago we lost a lower unit out there and that experience is detailed in this blog post at LAFB.
Great intro, thanks for posting it!

Boating Hazard In Pointe Aux Chenes (Exact Location)
This underwater obstruction in Pointe-aux-Chênes destroyed the boat's propeller, leaving us stranded. This is where the navigational hazard is located.

Yeah, I have the same sentiments about Facebook. It was good while it lasted, but whatever it’s become just isn’t appealing anymore.
I’m really hoping this forum takes off.
I understand that it won’t have the reach and pull of what LAFB Inshore (the old public FB group) had, but that’s kind of the operating word and point: “had”.
That Facebook group has something like 20,000 members but hardly any reports/engagement relative to that member count, and I feel that’s largely because Facebook doesn’t care about the communities that use their Groups platform. Instead they care only that those communities create content (for free) for them to put into a newsfeed and repackage with ads.
Think of the user experience on Facebook and how it’s changed (and how it can even change the user). I’m sure you understand, you deleted your FB account after all. Which is remarkable. That’s tough to do. That’s a huge step. So good on you.
Anyway, great intro and thanks for posting!

Hey Daniel, great intro and thanks for posting it.
You were pretty active in the FB group, so I’m hoping that this website/forum format works for you and others.
Now we just gotta wait for these storms to chill out. I’ve been inside for the last week or so, and have been watching these monster thunder boomers come and go. Geez. lol
Again, great intro and thanks for posting!

Hey Brian, thank you so much for posting an intro! It’s great to see you here.
Yeah, I hear you. Life gets in the way and sometimes that’s a good indicator to just run the boat. Get out there, feel the breeze, feel the boat rock under your feet.
That Tracker is a good boat. I l know I’ve been telling everyone and their mom to go fish Pointe a la Hache, but there’s a ton of sheepshead and better redfish action than I’ve found anywhere else.
I posted reports for all that.
Anyway, I appreciate you taking time to post an intro. I really hope this forum takes off.

Robbie, you have one of the handful of names that I recognize right away. LOL Yes, you have been around for a minute, and I thank you for that.
But, you really need to knock out that new 101! Find it linked here.
It’s just so complete.

Gain the foundational knowledge needed to safely navigate the marsh, find your own fishing spots and put limits of specks and reds in the boat.

You and me both! I cannot stand Facebook anymore.
If it remained simple and non-dopaminergic, then that would be fine with me, but it has not. It’s like getting a truck just to have it suggest places you can go, and make you drive more so you buy more gas. Just silly!
I think most people see this and am ready for something that can deliver value without vacuuming up their time and attention.
Thanks for posting an intro!

The storms have been nuts lately. Thankfully, I’ve been inside working on LAFB Elite, writing, etc. and watch the storms come and go through the window. It’s made for some pretty views.
Great report, thanks for posting!

Whenever my aluminum flatboat finally dies, I am replacing it with a Panga. Those hulls are just so good. I think it will deal with chop better but still get in the shallow stuff (and fit in the garage). It works for Chas Champagne, so there must be something to it.
If I could make a recommendation, I’d get down to Pointe a la Hache and Venice, especially when the river is low (like it is now).
Lots of good sight fishing out there. Since you’re coming from Hammond, the powerlines and rigs in west Lake Pontchartrain could be a good bet, too. Someone here posted a report for the powerlines.
Do you have sonar on that Panga? It sure makes finding redfish deep a lot easier.
Great intro, thanks for posting it!

Hey Josh, thank you for posting an intro and helping getting this rocket off the launchpad. You’ve cultivated great success on the water and posted some really nice reports, so I appreciate that.
I think good things can happen with this forum and look forward to building this together with all of y’all.

Hey Kevin, thanks for posting an intro.
That boat is good for getting shallow, at least I imagine it would be. Man, I would really consider getting down to Pointe a la Hache, whether you take the ride down from Sweetwater Marina or risk launching at Beshel’s.
That boat would be great for sight fishing the ponds around there, or at least fishing the points with a cork. It’d be good for catching the hell out of redfish and even sheepshead in PLH right now.
