and then Devin appeared on my shoulder and said “Let them go!”

Ha ha ha ha! Well sometimes it’s “throw his ass on ice!” but letting fish go could be good, too. Thank you for doing that.

I love to hear about the topwater action. Great report and thank you for posting it.

On my Humminbird Helix I save the day’s tracks at the end of each fishing trip. They are automatically saved by date. This way I can keep track of what’s what, export them, turn them off, make them visible, change their color so they are discernable from other tracks. I also export them for safekeeping on my desktop.

Avoid the black spaghetti on your GPS screen.

    “Water temp 73 degrees”

    Goodness gracious, that is warm.

“I know its entirely too early for that.”

It may not be. 73 is warm.

Is drifting Lake Decade not in the cards? I can see why you would want to go past it, I’m just curious if Decade has completely dried up or not.

    Great report, thanks for posting!

    Welcome to the Community!

As you already know, the Trestles are producing. Problem is, everyone else is out there fishing it.

I would look hard at fishing rigs in Lake Borgne, and even crossing to Biloxi Marsh on days the wind allows. There will be throwbacks, but something in my bones tells me that it’s worth looking at. If I can get out there I will post a report.

Good report. Don’t let the tough conditions get you down, just get back out there when you can. I dunno how high the Atch river is right now, but I’m sure once it goes down that area is going to have a helluva spring. I’m hoping so anyway.

Hey Matthew, it’s good to have you here. Completely unnecessary for you to post an intro as you’ve been a long time member/poster in Elite, but I’m glad you did anyway.

As you can see, this forum is hopping just as well (probably more so) as the FB group did, and for that I’m eternally thankful for the members who have made it possible. Too many to list here.

The fishing is heating up and I think we’ve got an early spring on our hands. Hopefully despite the freeze it will be a great spring!

I know you’re already out there, but “yes” that route is good.

Yeah, that’s a Violet Goby. They get that size and bigger. A preferred forage for fish, especially when the shrimp run out and it gets cold.

The Facebook group was good solely because the members here made it good. With that said, I’m glad the Community is on this site now.

Exactly. And the YT video that recently posted (out of Beshel’s) never would’ve happened if I didn’t take the risk of striking out to find new fish. The grind is worth it!

A lighter jighead is easier to get unstuck. It doesn’t stay pinned so easily.

Yes, fishing with slack line helps get those presentations in a much shorter runway and allows for lighter sinking weight, if necessary.

I bet it’s Karl Rockvoan. LOL It just popped in my head. Haven’t thought of that guy in forever. Yeah, he was always an a-hole to me. I have no idea why. It could be because years ago I politely asked that he post something better than a bragging report inside LAFB Inshore. If he wanted to copy/paste the same brag report in other groups, that was fine but (as I am sure you recall) I was trying to get people to post something more meaningful than wanting a pat on the back from strangers on the Internet. lol

It is what it is. I hope he has a long healthy life, catches a lot of fish, sees the point in my message and comes around eventually.
